Hope I’m wrong, but beginning to wonder whether they’ll last the season.
Strange because they played at this level last season finishing 8th in the Midland Division.
I guess the West Division is much stronger than the Midland Division.
When we were down there in August, the locals were telling me the lateral movement from Midlands to West caused a load of their established players to leave. They didn’t fancy the extra travelling, so they found others clubs in the area.
I think they’ve been left to attract whatever new players they can, and they look to have a very weak and inexperienced squad for this level as a result. It’s a shame, but it happens.
I think it’s also true that the NPL West is a lot more competitive as well, which just adds to the issue.
