Morning crosses the canal

WITTON have swooped to sign Adam Morning from neighbours Northwich.

The winger trained with Jim Vince’s men last night, Thursday, before agreeing terms with the Wincham Park club.

He is available for tomorrow’s clash with Hednesford Town.

"We’ve got ourselves a proper footballer," Albion boss Jim Vince told the Guardian.

"By that I mean that Adam is a quick, skilful winger who gets a lot of goals so we’re delighted to have him here."Vince revealed that Morning, 21, had called him earlier this week enquiring about a move away from the Marston’s Arena.

Vics boss Dino Maamria left him out of his squad for last weekend’s 4-1 reverse at Burton Albion, preferring to recall Luke Horrocks instead.

Morning had started the previous three matches while his teammate served a suspension.

Vince admitted he was keen to recruit after releasing John Dillon, Dean Craven and Neil Wood in the past 10 days.

"I’ve got a small squad and felt we needed to bring in a winger," he added.

"Mark Peers and Steve Brodie have played more football than anyone else so far this season and I felt Adam could come in and take some of the pressure off them."

He stopped short of promising a two-pronged wing attack with Morning and Peers on opposite flanks.

"You’ve seen in recent weeks that nobody is guaranteed a place every week," he said, referring to Brian Pritchard’s omission against Ilkeston Town a fortnight ago.

"Sometimes people need a rest because their body simply can’t give any more.

"That’s where our policy of bringing quality players in comes to the fore."

Morning joined Vics from Bradford Park Avenue in November, but struggled to dislodge Horrocks from Maamria’s starting line-up.

Last term he netted 27 goals for Woodley Sports, earning admiring glances from Football League clubs Stockport County and Peterborough United.

Work commitments meant he chose to stick to part-time football, something he can continue to do at Wincham Park.

Potentially a very good signing indeed

Hope he repays us handsomely for being rescued from the dark side of the canal.

He plays on the left…

According to my source at BPA, he was ‘class’ for them.

Morning has broken…

Your source didn’t once happen to play in red and white by any chance Robbo?

Is there anyone from BPA who didn’t?! ::slight_smile:
