I really had a bee in my bonnet about this at the time and nothing has diminished it! Why should our Council Tax money be dished out to fund a dubious private enterprise. If this was a club like ours where it was run democratically and answerable to a board and shareholders then fair enough. Its a shame that the Wincham community have to miss out an a facilty but the right decision has been made here.
I also found it amusing having read in this weeks Guardian about the much vamped Moss Farm upgrade. Apparently we’ve already wasted 6K of ratepayers money on employing a group of consultants who have told us what we already knew. That its going to cost Millions and of course there’s no chance of funds at the moment as the local authorities in Cheshire are going to be reorganised in 2009!! Shades of the Northwich vision where we’ve had numerous consultants producing numerous reports that basically say the same thing. Who knows one day it might happen.
Want my opinion? I think the council are making the point that without Witton Moss Farm will not be updated. The idea being to soften up the anti vote so that when it is brought up again it will have a better chance of getting past. I do believe that we will be playing at Moss Farm within the next five years.
