What league?

Why would Witton and Cammell Laird be put in the South and Colwyn Bay put in the North? Wouldn’t it have been better to have East and West Divisions so there would be less travelling for teams?

We have to accept that in footballing terms we were relegated to Unibond 1 and that geographically the balance of the teams relegated means that ‘South’ was always going to be the more likely of the two regions.

The disadvantage of the South division is smaller clubs, gates and therefore receipts. However of the two leagues it is certainly the easier of the two to get out of and if we can retain some of the players that Gary requires and add to the squad then we will be able to compete nearer the top (hopefully)!

Whilst we need to accept the current position there are almost inevitably a few surprises in store. Newcastle Blue Star are still in a precarious position and this may influence things. The is even a chance that our neighbours either end up playing against us in Unibond 1 South or better still their demotion saves is the thing that has the knock on effect of giving us a reprieve!

As I say, our expectations, our plans and our focus at the moment can only be made based on Unibond 1 South and we can have no argument, any let off would be exactly that, nothing other than good fortune. It would however be somewhat justified as the club has kept its head above water by not overspending recklessly in the manner that others have!

It looks like that our neighbours have been very canny in going into adminstration when they did. The Inland Revenue were about to wind them up today, but were thwarted by them going into administration. Accrington Stanley were not so canny, and their winding-up is going ahead.
I have been advised that administration only means a point deduction, whereas had they gone into liquidation, they would have been dealt the same fate as Halifax, and been given a drop to level 4.
Somehow, you have to admire Vics current leadership in knowing how to work the system to the hilt!

Well they have been in financial difficulty enough in recent years, they’ve got the experience in working the system!

they are like a slippery green eel they are! even if they get away with this I reckon they’re still knackered! we obviously couldn’t sustain the heady life in the Prem and I still find it unbelievable we were so poor poor poor! Still, we should p*** the south league!
