Where do we go from here?

The big question for me is, what kind of players are we going to atract with this mediocre budget? Im pretty sure we cannot afford to keep 4 or 5 quality players from this squad, let alone all of it. So your left with players from lower leagues. Sometimes it works, but finding 15 decent players from the NWCL aint going to be easy!

Neil,

Back to the Player of the Year do. As I’ve got nothing to do now on Saturday afternoon, do you need a hand in setting up for this celebration? Catch me on 01606 77456 if you do.
Jeff

Better than paying wages we cannot afford and ending up like Vics, homeless and at the mercy of whoever fancies putting a bit of money in for a season or two surely. Mark my words, good players will come to Witton, they always do, and maybe a place in next season’s playoffs is all we can hopefully look forward to, but Telford went up two seasons ago doing just that and Gateshead or Buxton are going to do it this season. If you are a lifelong Wittoner you know the team and the club are going to drive you nuts nearly every season, get used to it you newcomers, it probaly isn’t going to change, but neither is the friendly atmosphere that draws both players and fans to the club every season. I have lost count of how many times I have said I am never going again over the last 50 years or so, yet in the end I always return, just like many others, for whatever we do, we are Wittoners until the day we die, we just can’t help ourselves.

Would not want to be in the chairman’s shoes next season if things don’t go right on the pitch.

The Chairman helped save this club 10 years ago, we were dead and buried, I trust him to do what is right for the future of this club and not to give into the boo boys and land the club with a debt it cannot repay.

If both Jim and Mike will be attending the player of the year evening this saturday would it not be possible to arrange a meeting between the two plus a fans representative say Neil Wilson who can put forward the surporters view point.

This could be done away from the main event either before or after and see if we can reach a settlement on this. I am sure there could be cause for both party’s to comprimise and maybe establish a working relationship moving forward.

If a settlement cannot be reached then at least we have closer on the situation and can move on from there.

From speaking to both Mike and Jim they are reasonable men who I am sure in the cold late of day regret what has happend so I am sure both would want to rectify the situation.

I think the key thing for us as fans of this great club is to put our point across in sensible manner without name calling or panic no matter who you beleive or what side your on.
Why don’t the lads who have Jim’s number give him and Mike a call and see if this is possible?

Not disputing what MW has done for this club WHS,but I would still not want to be in his shoes next season if things do not go well.

I seem to get the impression you are enjoying all this, I for one are most certainly not.

ENJOYING THIS!!! ARE YOU MAD? I may be a pessimist but I am stupid enough to live with a little bit of hope in my soul. I would have been delighted if Witton had proved me wrong and gained the promotion they and you suppotrters so richly deserved. I work in a school with at least a dozen Kids who are Vics fans and you should hear the stick I have got over the last few days. No, I am not enjoying this, but I was prepared for it to happen so I am not as “down” as those of you who were convinced the league was won a few weeks ago. I have been a Wittoner long enough to know that “Lady Luck” or whoever rarely shines on our club, but when she does the joy is that bit more intense. We will gain promotion, just not this season.

You are right Eli, I noticed that.
Perhaps he won his bowls match.

have missed a few threads on the forums, can any one tell me what is going on please?and what as happen at the club sinc?Icould,nt make the tuesday night match?

As it happens I lost my own match 10-21 but the team won by 9 chalks so we are in the next round. Why is it so wrong to have other interests that take presidence over Witton Albion F.C.? Is it not possible to be a Wittoner and put other things first?
WHS.

I just can’t believe it. We all need to stick together though and see out the storm. Witton Albion will go on.

It’s horrible to think that a few weeks ago we were all looking to a bright future.
