Where will they play!

Yes 1874 are having a right good one eyed debate on their forum about it. They all seem shocked that we don’t want to throw open our doors and invite them in!
Does anyone actually want them at our place or is it time to lance the boil once and for all?

they should definately not even be considered to play at our stadium, they should just go down to chinkers, which is their true position. anyway they may not even get a team up and running, whee’s the money going to come from. so to recap we should have nothing to do with them, they are a poisoned chalice and should be allowed to fester and die completely.

Lance the boil. We all remember how they treated our fantastic stadium last time. They don’t deserve the privilege. They have never done anything for us. No doubt someone will say about the extra income it would bring this would be short term need to look at the bigger picture. If we want extra money there is a survey on easyfundraising on the 3rd page of free donations for New Vista live. 35p for 1 survey a day which takes 5 mins. 100 of us do it would be £35 a day.

UTA

Not surprised at their about-turn regarding ground share. Of course, if it is financially beneficial we would have to consider it, providing it does not interfere with existing agreements of course.

What’s funny is how they are blaming everything on the last 2 chairmen. Don’t think it was them that sold the DF and lived beyond their means for years. Or them that have consistently abused our facilities both physically and by word of mouth. Swamp eh? Even the chuffin terrace steps weren’t big enough for them. I reckon they’ll be glad to have enough watching to warrant a terrace now!

Also strange that on their forum not long ago, they were belittleing us by highlighting the fact that Alty and Macc were their true rivals/derbies - how times have changed.

Personally, I think the time has been and gone to consider a ground-share.

UTA!

And the stringing us along when we had our own issues in the 90’s, waiting for a certain swamp to be suddenly available!

I for one under no circumstances wish to see our ground polluted by the g&w sh*te.

Financial gain or not, as a shareholder I ain’t interested in having tenants like them. :red

Simple, no way :red It would be a disgrace if they are allowed to groundshare, it would be spitting in the face of all the hard work our great team of volunteers do at Wincham Park as it was those volunteers that cleaned up the shit last time they were here, financial benefit stick it up your arse i say! Here is hoping our chairman sees sense and tells them piss off down to Chinkers and let them play with all the dog shit down there!

Rant over, but i say NO!

Last year I was much more open about a potential groundshare. However, I’ve changed my mind. Let them rot elsewhere, I could not care less. What have Northwich EVER done for Witton?! Other than prevent us being elected to the NPL 40 years ago.

ONE TEAM IN NORTHWICH.

It would be nice if they played on belmont field so then i could laugh at them from my mums garden

All this speculation is pointless.

I have full trust in our board members to make the right decision for our club. If this means ground sharing benefits us, then so be it. Forget the past and think of the future!

Remember those famous words by somebody famous, KEEP YOUR FRIENDS CLOSE TO YOU, AND YOUR ENEMIES EVEN CLOSER!!

If ground sharing means, that their new club will never be financially able to progress above NWC,because they are paying so much for their groundsharing, and that our extra income allows us to fund an even better squad, then my mind is open.

I say again, I have full trust in our board to make the right decision for us.

Dont really want them vandalising our ground and wrecking the pitch but we could let them rent the car park and lend them some red bibs

and kiss this…
mooney

Love the last post but realistically Thatched Tavern is correct. I wouldn’t be extending any credit though!!! I heard that a number of supporters contributed £200 each to start a new club off. Anyone else heard the same? I heard that Neil and Robbo chucked a bob or two in!!! ha ha SBL

If we were stupid enough to let play at our ground would only benefit us financially in the short term. Would also allow them a foothold in northwich. They would get more fans watching at witton than they would at winsford or Runcorn they are well aware of this hence why they’ve been ‘nice’ the last 6 months. If we want to stay as the top team in town long term then it has to be a no. Lets remain the only team playing in town and keep growing our fan base.

UTA

After much thought i do agree keep them out of town, any money we earn will soon disappear but we will have helped them immensely, only if we are desperate should we lease to them- then only maybe.

UTA

Well since no one wants to talk about a WIN I thought I would bring this back up as doomsday approaches. Will they look to play locally or will they follow the path of their fore runner and go and play outside the area, effectively lancing their own boil without any help? Nobody would be that stupid(twice) to have a northwich team playing outside the town would they? Mind you no one would start a new team with the same charecterstics of the old one would they? I mean the name, nickname, colours played in or badge are completely different and unique ho ho ho

I am fairly sure they will be out of town for 2-3 years and look to get back in a small way after that moss farm maybe or as part Of the Thor - council development I cannot see rush fc being involved with that if he is still running then, witton just need to keep improving organically IMO.

Personally I think you have to rise above all the noise and flack and, as a football club of good standing, be seen to do the right thing by the wider football community. Not doing so will damage our club for years to come as no one else will understand or care abou this internal northwich politicking. The Board, if they are so minded will reach a reasonable commerciall arrangement that benefits our club too. I for one will be quite happy with whatever outcome they decide.

Well according to their forum it looks like they are going to Winsford for 2 years…

from their forum …

We will be ground sharing at Winsford for 2 years with an option for a further year which hopefully we will not need.
Thor are to sell the VS assets and give the money to the council, This in my opinion is very disappointing.
Although the details remain confidential witton look like they wanted to much money so were discounted, Personally not surprised.
Just hope we can find somewhere to play in the town over the next 2 years but lets hope that people come out and support the new club.

Not a good sign for hokey cokey 1874 when fans are already asking for some answers why sharing with us was not viable and it appears no answer is forthcoming. I would be very surprised if this club formed by the fans for the fans was having information not told to them by the erm fans at such an early stage in the new clubs life. It would be such a schoolboy error!!!
