The first game I will have seen since going to uni, and I am thoroughly looking forward to it.
If we continue to play as well as it sounds we have done, then it should be a good game and we will stand a good chance of winning.
Our current position in the league would suggest that we should win this game, however, as has already been posted elsewhere, a game against a managerless team is never easy, and therefore we should not be complacent.
My dad and I have wondered if there is a plan to meet in a pub for a few pre-game drinks, like last year. Any news on that would be great.
Whitby begin a new era after Lee Nogan’s resignation, as caretaker manager Phil Brumwell takes the reins on Saturday, but runaway league leaders Witton Albion are likely to provide a formidable challenge.
The Cheshire side are unbeaten in the Unibond Premier Division since the opening day of the season and did the double over Town last season, including a 7-2 thumping in February.
Albion’s top scorer Mark Peers, found the net with a free-kick in a 2-0 win over Whitby at the Turnbull in April and is level with the Blues’ own Danny Brunskill on eight goals so far this season.
Jim Vince’s Northwich-based outfit warmed up for their visit to North Yorkshire with a 6-1 drubbing of fellow Unibond Premier side Ashton United 6-1 last weekend in the first qualifying round of the FA Carlsberg Trophy. At the same time, the Blues were slipping out 3-2 at another club in the same league- Ossett Town.
The sides have met eight times previously, with Whitby winning twice, the former Conference national club successful three times, and three draws. Town’s last victory over Witton was a 2-0 away success under David Logan in February 2005.
Whitby will once again be without Matty Appleby who will assist Brumwell from the bench, as the Seasiders’ captain sits out the final match of his suspension. Andy Burton may return from a knee injury, but Ant Ormerod will definitely miss out again.
Kick-off at the Turnbull Ground is 3.00pm, with admission the usual £7.00 adults, £4.00 OAPS and £2.00 for under 18s.

What a great win ! Never mind other peoples results we are going great guns. It was only a metter of time with Adam, I think we all knew that, he’s our top scorer now. Even more pleasing is that we’ve won well without our two central midfielders, wait till Lloyd and Brown get back. All credit to Dillon and particularly MacPherson. Brilliant !
Come on Wiittteeeerrrrrnnnnnn.
