Whitby Town vs Witton Albion

It wasn’t aimed at only you and it wasn’t an insult, it just seems to me there has been a huge amount of negativity recently regardless of what has happened. The players read this forum and it would be nice to see everyone getting behind them during the blip we’ve had.

The problem I’ve had with your posts is there is not one shred of positivity about them.

However that said (and as dodger points out) its about freedom of speech and opinion. If your opinion is that certain players aren’t doing it then thats fine but don’t expect everyone to agree.

So I won’t go and boli my head just yet!

Those of us still in Whitby have no glasses half full were still filling em up in the pier inn
Great weekend, great win UTA

Really great 12 hours out following T’Albs yesterday.

Good to see so may Wittoners present - noted the attendance was around 70 higher than the previous half dozen or so matches there! - and to those who’d gone on the “Whitby Weekender” - You certainly didn’t go unnoticed :clap

Thought the team, having played their last couple of matches on a similar playing surface, this time really adapted themselves. the result should have been beyond any doubt by half-time but that’s football. The character showed after conceding the late equaliser spoke volumes - especially with Ben forced to leave the field with an horrific injury to his nose.

Must admit to being most disappointed and downright aggrieved to see so many of the home team skulk away to their dressing room, without the customary handshake etc - bad form nono nono nono - Wonder what the infamous “Goose” can come up with to explain his side’s players lack of RESPECT?

I think like some of the biggest critics on here (boom) goose wasn’t there. They just got off the pitch quickly their players to allow the Witton TEAM to thank its wonderful fans. Not sure about the suits though!

Oh dear CJ, that’s a bit of an over reaction.
Where did I say you’re not allowed an opinion? If anything you are the one who’s implying I shouldn’t have an opinion of you!
I haven’t driven others off this forum so be careful what you accuse others of doing.
What did you think of the game yesterday?

Job done goodbye

I’m entitled to an opinion and my opinion is
a) we don’t need another striker
b) the team have had a blip (most teams do at some stage of the season) but the minimum expectation is that the fans should get behind them not trolling on here
3) what ever happens from here on in is a bonus for the first season back in the NPL. Play offs will be awesome and we should try to beat all teams we come up against
d) we are still in 3 cups - another reason to be optimistic

Others have left this board because they couldn’t take people disagreeing with them. To be fair if I think you are talking shite and that’s my opinion I should be able to tell you without been told to boil my head. That isn’t a debate it’s just insulting. I’m not here to fall out or offend. If I disagree I’ll tell you but that’s the whole point of a debate isn’t it?

No, get back in your bunker I mean warren. He never told you to boil your head anyway, he asked you to boli it! Rabbits today I don’t know.
If we carry on like this we might as well grow two heads and play in green!

Come on everybody, calm down. At the end of the day we’re all wittoner’s so lets stick together and agree to disagree eh?

Just got back, had a cracking weekend, topped off by the result. Emotionally, physically and mentally ruined now though .sick

Looks like you are the new “WHS” CJ.
WHS.

Didn’t go to Whitby so can’t comment on the game but a good result at a ground where, according to their Manager recently, were now heading for the play-offs.

Also, on their Manager’s pre-match chat he respected Witton’s position but stated that ‘they were well backed, financially’

Witton ‘financial’ backing is by bloody hard work by all concerned and therefore it is a pleasure that we have taken all 6 points from the Seasiders.

GE

Didn’t go to the game so I don’t know how we played but a much needed 3 points, recent form had taken a massive hit, so hopefully that is behind us now

Looking forward to Tuesday now would be made up if we could make it to a cup final, league or cheshire cup final!

On the glass half empty we all have a moan every now and then its just life…

Not often I post on here these days, , but all of you get behind the club and players , So we had a dip in form … alot of factors can be put to that , but noone died !!! Stop your bickering
. For those who haven’t yet tried an away day , come along and try it . Youll be well looked after and its well organised .
I can’t emphasize enough the work and effort put in by that squad and management is the best for many many years at Witton.
Steve Foster and Shaun Tuck and running their legs off on the ball and off it .Joe Shaw also and the list would go on naming ALL of them . … and the new signings will bed in too .So a big Witton Welcome to Danny Meadowcroft and Micheal Powell Just get behind them.

Just to clarify then, in future when Witton don’t win in 5 games we are not to voice our disappointment at this? When did football become such a wet sport?

Praise when you win… Take the criticism on the chin and move on when you lose (i think Bobby Robson said that or something like)

We can all have a point of view yes 5 games , i have a moan , and a tantrum sometimes , even at the ground ,but i wont air it on a website , i think Pritch is approachable and if it really bothered me that much id speak with him face to face and then id get an educated response rather than some drivvle you get on these sites , i just feel alot criticism is unnecessary at this stage and doesnt help. they know more than anyone when things are not happening . And afterall 6th in the league first season back heading into March and the run in , aint so bad . Cant please everyone tho

Couldn’t agree more certain criticism has been pathetic I have had my say on that, rightly or wrongly. But I genuinely don’t believe CJ’s comments are in that catergory in my opinion.

Could it possibly be that some fans are just worried that if we don’t make the playoffs we may lose key players? Or that maybe expectations are just set to high? (although every fan has the right to dream) I don’t know just a couple of reasons maybe.

Thats football Jonny, if we do it , we do , if we dont ,we dont , but it wont be through lack of effort , i think we will be thereabouts .
May i just add, A VERY WARM WELCOME TO DANNY MEADOWCROFT and MICHAEL POWELL I hope you both enjoy yourselves at Witton Albion and have a fruitful time with us .

I think it’s about expectation Jonny. Think you’ve hit the nail bang on there.

As I’ve pointed out above my criticism wasn’t aimed at CJ although he would disagree. I’ve been around football for a long time (not all of it at Witton) and I know how damaging fans comments can be to players, management and the boards.

However fans pay their money and are entitled to their opinion and express it how they wish. Sometimes I just feel that on this board it needs to be more balanced. Generally people only ever post what’s wrong, not what’s right. If we just switched focus slightly it may (not promising) but may just have a positive effect everywhere round the club.

If we were rock bottom or embroiled in a relegation battle then I could understand it but we aren’t. As far as I can see the future is bright! Great players, great young players and an enthusiastic and committed team behind the scenes. What’s not to be happy about.

I respect everyone’s opinion on this board (even WHS’s - check back and I have never ever become personal against him). However respect works both ways and I also have the right of free speech and opinion.

Yeah I suppose we are better at criticising than praising but that’s the Witton :-), I personally think top 10 and a cup final would be a great season, maybe when you step back and look at where we have come from and to we should count are lucky stars.

It’s good to have a debate without it kicking off.
