Whitby Town vs Witton Albion.

Witton begin their Northern Premier League campaign with a trip to Whitby Town on Saturday afternoon. A ground that has seen Witton be very successful in previous years including last season where they made two trips and won them both, one being a cup game. Pre season has been challenging for the management team with decent performances but results perhaps not as productive asthey would’ve hoped. On the playing side, ten players have remained from last season’s squad and nine new additions have given competition for places a boost but, the warm-up programme has seen injuries to key players. That being said, the new season is a chance for everyone to get their opportunity and they will be ready to hopefully give Albion the best start possible as the real business gets underway. Whitby always provide tough opposition but Witton’s record against the Seasiders is impressive particularly away from home and they will be hoping to continue that form. Kick off at The Towbar Express Stadium at Turnbull Ground is 3pm.

Well, based on pre season and current injuries I would pick a side for the Whitby trip with

Renshaw
Lingouba, Anson, Wardle, Short
McKenna, Smart, Goulding, O’Hare
Jones, Murray

I would take point from the game given we will probably be missing, Owens, Hopley and Foley.
