Whitby Town vs Witton Albion.

Probably the most eagerly awaited fixture as far as Albion supporters are concerned, takes place this weekend as Witton make the long trip to the East Coast to take on Whitby Town in a Northern Premier League Premier Division fixture.

Witton’s record at Whitby has been an excellent one over the years and they will be hoping that continues this weekend. In fact, you have to go back to 22nd April 2009, to find the last time they suffered defeat in a league game in Whitby when the Seasiders came out on top with a narrow 1-0 win.

They will be boosted by the midweek victory at home to Hyde United, a game played in terrible conditions but Witton still managed to produce such a performance, that the game was virtually out of the Tigers reach by half time to give them their second home league win of the season.

At the same time, Whitby were slipping to a 4-1 defeat at fellow play off challengers Buxton but their form at the Towbar Express Stadium has been decent, only Stalybridge Celtic have gone away from there with three points so far and the Seasiders have won three out of the other four league games in front of their own supporters.

Two new additions to the squad in James Lawrie following his release from Nantwich Town, and loan signing from Chorley, Nathan Okome, who made an immediate impact in midweek have given Carl & Gary further options as Albion approach a busy period in the next few weeks.

Whitby will be a tough challenge for the lads as they always are, but Witton are more than capable of getting a result if they approach the game in the right manner.

Kick off at The Towbar Express Stadium is 3pm.
