Kev Clarkes young side got back to winning ways at Winnington Reserves in the MCDFA challenge cup. To be fair it was not a great performance or great game, but in many ways this had more to do with one of the worst refereeing performances I have ever seen.

Witton were again without many players, Macc lads missing and centre back James Ashton still missing due to leg injury received v Winsford Utd in last round. Kevs selection proved the right one with good work from many players, but particular mention to reservist Steve Lockery, solid centre back Jamie Blinkhorn and the young winger Lewis Bentley. 2 goals from Spin and 1 each for Matty Clarke and the now prolific Alex Dunne sewed up the victory after an early scare by the home side.

The result was never in doubt and with better finishing and a referee who could see where players runs had come from the scoreline should have much higher.

1 more game to go in this prelim round and who knows it may be a Reserves v Youth in the first round proper.

Mark
[smiley=banane.gif] [smiley=banane.gif] [smiley=banane.gif] [smiley=banane.gif] [smiley=banane.gif] [smiley=happydance.gif] [smiley=happydance.gif] [smiley=happydance.gif]
