Witton’s Academy team are in action again on Monday when they take on Brighouse Town in an ESP Football Academy Northern Division fixture. The lads can consider themselves rather unlucky not to have picked up anything from last Thursday’s defeat to Ossett United as they ended up on the wrong end of a nine-goal thriller, losing by the odd goal. They will be hoping for better fortunes this time as another Yorkshire side are their opponents. The game is being played at Sandbach Community Football Centre with a 12pm kick off and will be played behind closed doors due to the current Covid restrictions.

Witton’s Academy team slumped to their third successive defeat in the ESP Football Academy North Division on Monday as Brighouse Town hit six in a comfortable victory.
Trailing 2-0 at the break, Witton managed to find the net in the second half but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation, as the Yorkshire side ran in four more goals.
