Witton’s Academy team are in action on Thursday afternoon when they welcome Carlton Town in their penultimate ESPFA National Cup Northern Group fixture.

With another home fixture to come, Witton are in a very good position to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition and one victory from the remaining two games, should be enough to cement their place in the Quarter Finals although they’ll be wanting to win both.

After losing their opening group fixture to Divisional Champions Runcorn Linnets, Witton have grown in stature and confidence in the following games winning three and drawing the other, whilst amassing sixteen goals in the process making them the highest scorers in the group.

Opponents Carlton Town are out of the reckoning as far as knockout qualification is concerned, having lost three of their five games so far, winning only one but will still be a threat as they have nothing more to play for apart from pride.

Witton will have to continue in the same vain as they have in recent weeks in order to get the right result but it will be a tough challenge.

Continue to follow Station Road for 0.5 miles and continue onto Elworth Road follow for 0.3 miles. Turn right to stay on Elworth Road and continue for 299 ft. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Hind Heath Road/B5079 and follow for 0.2 miles. Turn left onto Restricted-usage road and proceed for 276 ft. Sandbach Community Football Centre is opposite the Cricket Club. (Total Distance - 11.6 miles).

Parking: The Car Park has spaces for 30 cars.

Witton’s excellent run continues, that’s one defeat in the last eight games in all competitions and four wins in their last five games.
