Witton’s Academy team are in action again on Thursday when they welcome Mickleover FC in an ESP Football Academy Northern Division fixture.

Martyn Irvine’s charges have one point from their opening two games, a 2-2 draw against Ossett United was followed by a 4-0 defeat to Skelmersdale United last week but, the game was over by half time with the team already being 3-0 down.

Mickleover were not in action last week but began the season with a 3-1 away defeat at Brighouse Town, so will be looking to pick up their first points of the campaign.

Witton however, will be hoping to put last week’s disappointment behind them and hopefully gain their first win of the season.
