Witton Albion Academy vs Mickleover Sports (Red)

Witton Albion Academy Team begin their NPL Academy campaign on Wednesday afternoon as they welcome Mickleover Sports(Red) to The NetDec Stadium in a Joma Division fixture. Witton had a very good season last time around and finished a creditable fifth in the Chryso Division but have been placed in the other league for this season’s competition. A very tough opening game awaits them as Mickleover Sports were very successful last season but a different challenge for them to test themselves against. Kick off at The NetDec Stadium is 1pm.

Went down for a look and the Witton lads appeared to be both younger and smaller and it made a big difference as Mickleover dominated play and battles. UTA

They won the Academy last season so they were always going to be strong opposition.

Witton Albion Academy Student Callum Parkinson was nominated for the first NPL Football Academy “Team of the Week” of the new season but didn’t quite make the final selection.
