WITTON ALBION ACADEMY

ACADEMY FEB HALF TERM TASTER SESSIONS

Witton Albion Football Club are holding a taster session for school leavers in the area who are interested in joining our 2016/17 Academy squad in the forthcoming February half term holidays.

The session will take place on Wednesday 17th February at Moss Farm Leisure Complex, Northwich, CW8 4BG (3G pitch), from 1pm – 2pm.

Witton Albion Academy with our partners the NPL Football Academy (the official football academy programme of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League and the only one that is sanctioned by the FA in the United Kingdom) is a full time education and football programme for those who wish to take an alternative route into further education.

Students will study for a BTEC in Sport qualification (Level 2 or 3), train three/four days a week with an UEFA qualified coach and play for Witton Albion in the NPL Football Academy League and FA Youth Cup with all games taking place at the main Evo-Stik League stadiums.

With genuine pathways to the first team at Witton Albion and also opportunities to study, play and coach in America with our pathway partners Soccer Chance USA, this is a fantastic opportunity for any hard working, committed and talented young footballer in the area.

If you are in year 11 or 12 at the moment and want to join a semi-professional academy when you leave school this year then activate your ambition and register your details at nplfa.co.uk

The event was attended by over 250 young footballers, the next one will be held at Easter.

Thats a good turnout, good chance of running this next year, that must put further strain on the Pitch if games have to be played on the main pitch ? finances will have to be looked at for sure and the investment into the pitch.

I’m not 100% certain on this but, I think the intention is to play away from the main Stadium.

OK Derek but thats not what it says in the notes ! and I think to play in the FA youth cup you have to play at the home stadium. UTA

The Academy and Youth set ups would be totally separate from each other. The Academy would be part of the NPL structure and all league games would have to be played at The NetDec Stadium. FA Youth Cup fixtures would also have to be played at The NetDec Stadium should we be drawn at home,

The club haven’t made a decision as yet regarding the Youth structure of the club but it is likely that any Youth team fixtures, apart from FA Youth Cup fixtures will be played away from the main Stadium.
