Witton Rating **
Match Rating ***

For the third week running Witton’s opponents finished the match with 5 men, however this time so did Witton…

GK - Haspell 7
Only called into action twice, and had no chance with the goal

DF - Green 8
Solid performance, and had the best of Witton’s few chances on goal. Got involved in an unsavoury incident late on which resulted in a red card for both Green and a KFC player. :-[

DF - Robinson 6.5
Solid defensively, and tried to bring the ball out when possible. Took a knock just before half time, and as a result is a major doubt for next week’s fixture. Was involved in the incident that led to KFC’s winner. :-

MF - Blundell 6.5
Full of running, but several incidents throughout the course of the game prevented him from making a telling contribution. Was involved in the scuffle that led to the red cards. >:(

MF - Prew 7
Couldn’t really open up the KFC defense. Looked completely deflated at full time. :frowning:

FW - Marshall 6.5
Did the yards for the team, and came in for some rough treatment from the KFC defenders. Clearly blamed himself for KFC’s goal - but in truth the blame needs to be shared amongst the whole team.

SUB - CARTER 8.25
Did well again from the bench. Working his way up to a starting place now. :stuck_out_tongue:

SUB - Stuart 6.25
Strangely sloppy performance from Dann. Left a couple of balls to run through to the keeper that almost fell short. Possibly over-exherted himself whilst doing the warm-up? :o

SUB - Jones 6.5
Didn’t get much time to impress, but is busily carving himself out a role as a battering-ram type forward. ::slight_smile:

Overall; Witton dominated most of the game, but just couldn’t finish. At 0 - 0 too many people got themselves involved in handbags that perhaps resulted in the lack of concentration prior to the winning goal. Lessons to be learnt, and changes to be made.

Talk of winning the league almost certainly needs to now be forgotten.

Witton 0 v KFC 1

Att 0 (Witton forced to play this match behind ‘closed doors’ after letter from the league)

Best Moment - Another run-out for Big Stu.

Worst Moment - Too much pushing and shoving, and not enough football.

Looks like it’s all going pear shaped 1 :frowning:

We just can’t score at the minute!!!
