INTERESTING FACT

The whole team are due to meet for a curry on Sunday evening after the game, before making their way into town for a few beers.

are WAGS still invited for a Curry and Beer?

Sorry, mis-read that for a second there… 8)

Yes they most certainly are.

NO!!!

I was under the impression that Dawn comes under ‘flat-mate’, and therefore is neither a W or a G…

Think my missus would like to come too (if we’re back in time)

What does she come under - WU???

Just to remind anyone, if you want to put your name forward to manage the side for the coming season then PM Rabbit in the next 48 hours. After that point we will take a vote. If nobody puts their name forward then i will continue to carry out the role until the end of the next season.

Thanks.

There have been no responses to the previous post for management applications and as such Mark Robinson will go forward into next season as the team’s manager with everyone’s vote.

I am sure that Mark will unveil his plans for the next season in due course and continue the quest to become champions in the new campaign. The board, directors and chairman of Witton Albion Supporters FC are delighted that Mark is continuing at the helm and give him our complete and unreserved support. We would like to congratulate the team on their tremendous progress during the previous campaign and thank all those involved in the club’s success. (Getting a bit carried away now so I’ll pack it in)!

A depleted Witton side ran out 3 - 1 winners in a game that had ‘end of season run out’ written all over it.

A very sluggish opening 13 minutes saw Witton fail to get out of 1st gear. Big Stu managed to knock a few Northwich players to the floor, and even took one comical stumble himself, but Witton could not break the deadlock.

A frustrating 0 - 0 at half time.

The second half finally brought goals, along with the introduction of debutant Adam Clarke. However, it was the much-maligned Scott Carter who finished the season in the kind of form he had displayed in the previous campaign, as he opened the scoring with a well-placed finish to make it 1 - 0.

This should of been chance for Witton to open the floodgates, however disaster soon struck. With the ball taking an awful bounce over the head of Robinson, a Northwich attacker had a free shot on Stu Jones’ goal. However, Robinson managed to recover in time to get a block in on the shot, but the rebound fell to the same Northwich player who made no mistake 2nd time around to make it 1 - 1.

This looked as though it would be the final score, until Graham Prew stepped up to curl one in off the outside of his right boot. Minutes later and Scott Carter scored his second to wrap up the points for Witton.

Best Moment - Finishing the season with a win.
Worst Moment - Drew crying off from the after-match curry :-
