It was a tale of 2 Grahams, as Witton remained a point clear at the top of the table - and also the only unbeaten side in the league - after 4 games.

Once again they rode their luck though in the early stages, as Crouch managed to keep the scores at 0 - 0. However, with the introduction of Dave Johnson mid-way through the first half, the game began to swing in Witton’s favour.

Witton did have the ball in the Northwich net in the first half, but the referee wrongly ruled the goal out - claiming that Scott Carter had entered the area before scoring. How he spotted this, but missed the more cast-iron offense when KFC equalised in the season’s opener, is anyone’s guess.

It wasn’t long into the second half though when Witton did manage to break the dead-lock. A hopefully shot from Prew looked to be comfortable for the keeper, but he somehow managed to spill the ball into the net and gift Witton the lead.

It wasn’t too long after this that Prew scored a much better goal to make it 2, and wrap up the points for the Albion.

The rest of game saw Witton pass the ball about with ease, with debutant Andrew Chesworth looking very accomplished in the middle of the pitch.

Witton will hopefully have a full squad to choose from next week as they begin a run of 4 difficult games.

From 6s website!!

Pru did the honours with regard to the scoring of the goals in the first game with the new all gleaming white balls. The game with Allstars also served to highlight a further strength of the league, with a combative tussle between “Big Stu” of Witton and Martin of Allstars. “Ollie” worked tirelessly for the boys from Northwich but they could not find a way past the Witton goalie, “Crouchie”.

“Martin of allstars” must be a bloody big bloke, has he been hammering the steroids since i last saw him???
