Witton Albion Supporters FC v Northwich United

The Supporters Team will be looking to build on last weekend’s excellent performance against KFC, by claiming all 2 points on Sunday against unknown quantities The Kop End.

Kick off at 2pm.

Can the playing squad please be at the rowing club for 1pm prompt. It’s going to be SUPER! Thanks.

Super you say?

Super super Tom.[br]Posted on: June 05, 2007, 06:29:52 PM
I saw me mate, the other day,
He said he’d seen the white Pele,
So i asked, where’s he play,
Supporters Team, this Sunday.

Is this some kind of coded message? are you the IRA?

For those who haven’t yet guessed, the Supporters Team is very pleased to have a Very Special Guest attending on Sunday. If anyone would like further details please feel free to PM me.

Is it Pele?

That would depend on whether Pele scored 147 goals for Witton or not?

;D[br]Posted on: June 07, 2007, 06:12:32 PM
POTENTIAL change of plan. The Kop End have dropped out of the league. Northwich United have no game either and are due to play at 2.30pm, so i have put the suggestion to the league that we bring our league game with Northwich forward 3 weeks and play them at 2.30 instead of both teams having no game. The league are still trying to find 2 new teams inorder to fulfill both fixtures, but i expect they are unlikely to do so. Therefore it looks as though we will be playing N****wich at 2.30pm instead of playing at 2. I would say that rather than changing too many arrangements that the playing squad still get down to the rowing club for 1pm so we have plenty of time to prepare.

Is it destiny that a certain super somebody signs off from Witton with a sack-full of goals against N****wich?!?

:o

Yes. Did i ever mention the goal i scored from 40ish yards out??[br]Posted on: June 08, 2007, 01:30:01 PM
Right, Sunday we are now playing Northwich United at 2.30pm. Still meet in the Mike Moseley Enclosure - sorry, the Rowing Club - at 1pm.

Curry and beers Sunday night?!?

Just to say that the game was a good one, and yu deserved the win. I was going to come in the rowing club after the match, but my brother was there to pick me up, and he wanted to leave. Don’t know if any of my team mates went in or not, you scored good goals past us and truly worked us hard to our limit to defend against your attacks.

It’s a shame you couldn’t make it in, i’m sure you enjoyed being on the same pitch as Mike as much as the rest of us.

Whats the T shirt say??? and what was the score???..Top marks to Mike for turning out, best of luck next season to him:)

A cracking gesture by Mike to turn up and play for the team, that 2nd goal was worth the entrance money alone!

What a top fella, who has now notched 150 for the Albion in competitive games!
You’ll have to amend your records Chad senior!

What an afternoon that was!

It’s something I doubt will ever be forgotten, certainly not by me or anyone else for that matter.

Well done lads on the performance and everything else that went with it.

I think I’m hooked now more supporters games for me in the future.

MASSIVE MASSIVE thanks to Mike for everything yesterday. Yet another example of how much we will all miss him next season. Well done to everyone who came down to watch, it made the day even better for all us cloggers playing for the Supporters Team!

I think Mike must of had writers cramp by the time he left, i don’t think there was anything else he could of signed!

A brilliant day all round.

It finished 6 - 0 with 3 goals from Mike (1 pen), 2 from Shaun Carter (so nearly robbing the headlines!), and Greenie notched his 9th of the season.

Full report to be posted later.

Man Of The Match - ‘Super’ Michael Moseley.

With the sun blazing down on a record crowd of 20 - including a packed-to-the-rafters Bulmers Family Enclosure - Witton Albion Supporters FC claimed their first clean sheet of the season. With Marshall and Robinson again forming an excellent partnership at the back, it is now almost 50 minutes since the Witton defense was last breached. This alone would of been ample cause for celebration, but of course there were other headlines to be written. Firstly, Tom Green claimed his 9th goal of the season, and young slightly-effeminate Shaun Carter grabbed 2 expertley taken second half goals to justify his manager’s faith in selecting him ahead of the fit-again Mike Blundell. Other than that, it was quite a dull afternoon down at John Deane’s…hang on a minute, no it wasn’t. I almost forgot…

Lining up for the Albion one final time was the White Pele, Super Mike, him of very fertile loins. Yes, everyone’s favorite scorer of 5 yard tap-ins - Michael ‘147’ Moseley. Handed the captaincy in recognition of his acheivements with the Witton First Team, young Mike lead the line with vigour. Within minutes a fairy tale start unfolded, as Witton won their first ever penalty when the young Northwich defender encroched into the penalty area. With the crowd up on their feet to see Moseley roll the ball home controversey began to unfold as Super Mike handed the ball to Green. As Green placed the ball the anger from the crowd was clear as boos rang out around this magnificent stadium. Sensing a potential crowd disturbance, young Moseley quickly reversed his original decision and agreed to take the spot kick - rifling the ball into the keeper’s top right-hand corner - 1 nil (148 career Albion goals).

As Witton continued to apply pressure, it was clearly only a matter of time until the score was doubled - but when the goal came nobody present would of been expected to have guessed it would be such a memorable strike. The agile figure of Green lobbed a perfectly weighted ball over the Northwich defense for Moseley to run onto (yes folks, he does actually run…), and the veteran striker lifted the ball over the advancing keeper and into the unguarded net for one of the best goals you are likely to see at this level - 2 nil (149 career Albion goals). Still before half-time there was still time for another goal, as this time the slender-framed Number 9 turned provider, slipping the ball to Green who sent a rasping shot straight at the keeper. Luckily, the ball rebounded back to Green who ferociously despatched the ball into the far corner of the goal. Unstoppable - 3 nil.

With Crouch starting the second half in nets for Northwich, the angle was going to appear narrowed from whichever way Witton approached the goal. However, this wasn’t to stop the ongoing massacre as Moseley collected the ball after a good save from Crouch and rolled the ball into the empty net from a matter of inches - 4 nil (150 career Albion goals). With tomorrow’s headlines seeminly already written, the game came so close to becoming the Shaun Carter Show as Shaun danced his way through the Northwich defense (less camp than his efforts at his Dad’s 40th i wish to add), to make it 5 nil with a perfect curling effort into the bottom corner of Crouch’s net. Moments later he made it 6 with his second of the game, another excellent goal that had to be seen to be believed.

With the crowd still catching it’s breath from Carter’s viruoso 5 minutes, Robinson took the opporunity to give Moseley the send-off he’d so craved in May. With a minute left on the clock Moseley was subbed to a standing ovation from both spectators and players, to depart the pitch victorious once more in his cherished Witton Number 9 shirt. 150 competitive goals and out. Mike Moseley - we salute you!
