For the second successive week Witton took the points with practically the last kick of the game. The 2 points keep Witton in the title hunt, and keep the pressure on leaders Winsford.

In the first half Witton fashioned plenty of opportunities, but just couldn’t test the Northwich goalkeeper.

The second half was much the same until about 5 minutes from time, as a tame shot from a Vics striker found it’s way into the net - with Crouch lying helpess on the floor after an unfortunate slip.

This set-back could of seen heads drop, however it did the opposite. Within a few short moments, Chadwick had played Shaun Torres Carter in for the equaliser and Witton were back in the game.

With just a few minutes remaining, Tim Green was sent on for Haspell and asked to play as the last defender. This led to some panic on the sidelines as with just 10 seconds remaining, Tim appeared as Witton’s most advanced player on the left flank. Again Chadwick’s vision came to the fore as he slipped the ball to Green, who placed his shot between the keeper’s legs to win the game!

Certainly not the best performance of the season - but quite possibly the most dramatic - against a Vics team unrecognisable from the side that turns out against any other opposition…
