Sunday 29th July @ 2pm.
Won 3 - 1 with a Chadwick Hat-trick.
Greenie suffered a broken arm as a result of landing awkwardly after a late challenge.
In the absence of anyone else providing a match report:-
Witton Albion Supporters 3 - 1 Real Sita
Team:- Blundell, Marshall, Carter Shaun, Carter Scott, Green, Chadwick.
SUBS:- Dan, Gregory, Wilson, Prew.
This excellent win will be tarnished by the loss from action of chunky player manager Thomas Green, who broke his arm following a reckless challenge by a Real Sita player which left him flying through the air at a great rate of knots before landing awkwardly. Fortunately ladies not on his manhood
The Red men started strongly with lots of clever link play between Green and Shaun Carter, creating a number of good chances. Chadwick’s shot just wide of the upright in the opening exchanges was a forerunner of what was to come. Shaun Carter and Green both had shots blocked as the Albion were well on top. At the back Marshall looked sluggish due to his lack of a hangover!
The opening goal when it arrived was rather fortuitous, a shot from the lithe and nimble Sheringhamesque Chadwick was deflected past the stranded Sita keeper. HT 1-0.
Half Time saw Blundell replaced in goal by DanceX wannabe Shaun Carter, and the unfortunate Green replaced by the more svelte Graham Prew.
The second half saw Blundell played in to good shooting positions on three seperate occasions, but unlike his fellow terror suspects his shooting wasn’t up to the job.
After sustained pressure on the Sita defence they broke out against the run of play and scored with a shot from the edge of the area which Carter was unable to hold.
The Albion backlash was to come in the last 5 minutes. Prew who was becoming influential in the middle of the park beat his man before slotting the ball onto the onrushing Chadwick who hammered the ball emphatically home to put the Supporters into a deserved 2-1 lead.
In the very next attack the same players again combined to devastating effect as Prew again played in Chadwick and the veteran striker rolled back the years to finish with applomb and complete his hat-trick.
Chadwick was then afforded Moseley like acclaim when substituted in the final minute to a standing ovation(there aren’t any seats!) from the massed Albion ranks.
Any over embellishment of the facts is entirely justified!
FINAL SCORE - Albion Supporters 3 (Chadwick 3) Real Sita 1 (Who Cares)
Attendance 5
Surely it’s been years since you’ve ‘rushed’ anywhere?!
Chad
I can assure you that I won’t be suffering the same problems this week
