Previous Meetings:

Witton have never previously met the Trickies; who are apparently a bunch of Vics fans who work at Tesco.

Trickies - LWWWD (For 15, Against 8)

League Postion:

Witton - 3rd, 10 points

Witton from:

Gregory, Crouch, Scott Carter, Tom Green, Robinson, Haspell, Blinkhorn, Grassby, Shaun Carter, Clarke, Blundell, Chadwick.

Injured:

One to watch:

It can only be Tom Green. In the most clinical form of his life, and will be looking to fire Witton to another 2 points.

Mile-Stones:

Si Gregory could make his 20th appearances for the Team, Drew Haspell should hit 45, and Mike Blundell is fast closing in on 50 appearances - just 2 more to go.

How Does This Season Compare To Last:

Now 7 5 0 2 14 6 8 10

Team Stats:

Interesting Fact:

A Witton win would see the side equal their best ever run of 5 consecutive victories. However, this time it would be acheived with a much better goal average.

A ‘functional’ rather than classy Witton performance saw them equal a Team record 5 consecutive wins.

Again it was the same 3 goal scorers as last week who did the damage, but Tom Green could really have given Witton the perfect start had his early shot not hit the cross bar and bounced to safety.

As it was, Witton did not need to wait too long to break the deadlock, as an Adam Clarke shot hit a defender and deflected in (it was probably going to end up near the swimming baths :stuck_out_tongue: ).

Rather than go all out for a second, Witton began the second half with a counter-attacking mentality. As the half wore on, the improved fitness of the Witton side saw Carter and Green put the game to bed in the last few minutes. In truth, Trickies had very little to show for all of their toil and wont have too many complaints about the result.

Witton will hopefully make it a new Team record of 6 consecutive wins next Sunday - but prior to that, there is the small matter of the 11-a-side game against the Runcorn fans at Wincham Park next Sunday morning…

Well done boys, but  what chance do the opposition have of scoring when you put a sofa in the goals though?

It’s been a few weeks since I have been able to get down to watch the Supporters team. I saw a big difference since the last time I was down.

The arguing, shouting, and getting on each others back had dissappeared, and had been replaced by encouragement.

Great to see and hear…keep the encouragement going, and Runcorn Supporters will have no chance.

Yep, we certainly have a Team that is Fitter, Happier and generally more determined to work for each other.

And thanks Andy, i have amended the above…

‘Witton continued the strong run with another powerful performance dominated by the centre back Drew’
