PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Vale FC were known as Odd Bods last year, and failed to turn up for their match against Witton. Witton therefore took a 5 - 0 win by default.
CURRENT FORM
Witton - DW (3 goals scored, 2 conceded)
Vale - LL (1 goal scored, 6 conceded)
TOP SCORERS
Witton - Scott Carter 2 goals
Vale - Someone 1 goal
WITTON FROM;
Haspell, Jones, Robinson, Marshall, Scott Carter, Prew, Johnson, Clarke, Green, Stuart, Chadwick.
Chadwick is likely to replace the missing Blundell. Si Gregory will have his batteries replaced on Saturday evening.
ONE TO WATCH
Graham Prew may feel that he has something to prove after turning out for arch-rivals KFC last Sunday.
MILE-STONES
Robinson could make his 30th appearance for the Team. Chadwick and Stuart will both be looking to make their 20th appearances.
Tom Green will be looking for his 20th goal for Witton.
INTERESTING FACT
Odd Bods leaked goals at the back end of last season, but as Vale FC they have slightly improved. Witton will be hoping this upward curve is broken on Sunday.
So then Gaffer,
To avoid annoying people, please can you post the 10 names selected to play this week? You mention 11 in the post above. I am available to play btw…
Also - can you please post the 10 man squad selected for the cup games - i don’t want to pay £10 if i’m not going to play.
Squad will be (depending on late fitness tests…);
GK - Johnson
DF - Marshall
DF - Stuart
DF - Robinson/Haspell
MF - Prew
MF - Carter
MF - Green
FW - Chadwick
FW - Clarke
FW - Jones (10th man)
[br]Posted on: February 15, 2008, 02:58:44 PM
Cup squad will be dependent on who is available - fixtures not yet out. It’s £5 each for the registration, not 10.

Witton Rating ****
Match Rating ****
Witton went 1 point clear at the top of the league - whilst also boasting the best goal difference - after beating Vale FC 5 - 0.
The opening exchanges were all Albion, but the Vale keeper was in inspired form. Infact the outcome could of been very different, as Vale did manage to get the ball into the net with the score at nil nil. Luckily for Witton the Vale attacker was deemed to have entered the area before scoring, and therefore the goal was chalked off (in truth this was more debatable than the goal that KFC scored in the opening match of the season…).
This seemed to spur Witton into action, and they soon took the lead. However, there was again a degree of good fortune in this! The Vale keeper threw the ball to his defender, who then passed it back to him. Under 6s rules this is not allowed, and would therefore result in an INDIRECT freekick. As the ball made it’s way back towards goal Marshall shouted ‘he can’t pass it back!’, so the keeper left it - and the ball rolled into the net to make it 1 - 0 to Witton!! Comedy gold!!
The tally was soon doubled when Clarke scored his first for the team.
This was added to by Prew (2), and Green.
So Witton won 5 - 0, but once again will feel that there is a better performance just around the corner.
