Witton produced easily their best performance of the season to claim their first win against table-topping Winsford.

After last week’s poor performance, Robinson chose to shuffle his pack. Droppping himself to the bench, and recalling the fit-again Mike Blundell to the starting VI, Robinson set his stall out to take the game to Winsford.

Witton moved the ball with finesse, without ever really testing the Winsford keeper. However, the performances of Blundell, Fallows, and 50-appearance-man Scott Carter, meant that Winsford never got sniff at the other end either.

Much credit has to be given to Andy Chad aswell, as in games like yesterday’s the word ‘ugly’ is the best adjective you could possibly use to describe him. He was more than prepared to do all of the hard graft upfront, and would of been well deserving of a goal had the opportunity presented itself.

The game reached half time with the score at 0 - 0, and remained a cagey affair until Adam Clarke stroked the ball into the Winsford goal with his left foot to give Witton the lead.

From that point onwards tempers began to flare, as the Winsford team began to get frustrated at Witton’s dominance.

As the game wound down, Crouch made 3 great saves in the Witton goal to preserve the lead.

At the final whistle both sides shook hands, with Witton closing the gap at the top of the table to 1 point.

If the Supporters Team can get over the disappointment of losing last week, then here’s hoping that the First Team can do likewise tomorrow night!

I cant believe you falied to mention my Didier Drogba dive late in the second half that somehow didn’t get a free kick!! What a crap ref!!

Aaaaaah my toe!!! You girl!!!
