Albion started the afternoon with a bare 7 players & Drew! in a team depleted by injuries, and no shows (and baby shows!).

Despite this the 1st half was typified by a number of quick passing moves primarily between Carter, Clarke and Chad (The 3 C’s!). Witton took the game to their opponents from the off and the Winsford keeper made a couple of good saves early in the game to keep the Witton offense at bay. In the Witton goal Crouch also made two saves from distance and one on the edge of the box to keep the teams level. The breakthrough came as a result of a great team move involving all five outfield players and a final interchange of passes between Scott Carter which released Clarke who made no mistake from the edge of the area. Minutes later it should have been 2 nil, after leaving 3 (three!) Winsford defenders on the ground Chad set up Scotty who shot straight at the Winsford custodian.

The second half started with DJ throwing out some Samba like flicks as the lone forward. But as the half wore on Winsford got a foothold in the game, only uncompromising defending by Robinson and excellent positional play by Marshall kept the Albion in front. The Winsford equaliser came as a result of a poor throw out by Crouchy (From Hero to Zero in 13 minutes) the Winsford forward pounced on the throw and slotted home with applomb.

Despite the pressure Witton created the best two openings right at the death and twice goalscorer Clarke went close when opting to shoot.

Overall a good team performance, and 6 games in the boys remain unbeaten.

MOM - Robinson - Solid and assured defying the age he looks (45 at least?)

Att 3

MOM? - did he win any tackles?
