Derby day is upon us on Sunday afternoon when Witton’s U21’s Development Squad are in action when they welcome 1874 Northwich in a North West U21’s Development League Premier Division fixture.
The visitors sit fourth in the Premier Division table having won six league games and losing three whilst Albion currently sit bottom of the table and still seeking their first points following nine straight defeats.
Performances have been better in the last few weeks and they can consider themselves rather unfortunate not to take anything from their last game against AFC Knowsley although, the league game a week ago against Runcorn Linnets U21’s was abandoned
Witton will have to be mindful of 1874 striker Joe Duckworth, who has six goals from seven appearances so far this season but it isn’t about one player as there are areas on both sides that could play an important part in the game.
Michael Woolley will also be looking to add to his total for the season but, it’s all about how the team responds on the day.
Another tough game is on the cards and Witton will be hoping to impose themselves on the game and hopefully, get off the mark.
