Witton’s U21’s are in league action on Sunday afternoon when they welcome fourth-placed Bootle in a North West U21 Development League Premier Division fixture brought forward from April. The Bucks are in decent form at present and are currently unbeaten in the league since a 1-0 home defeat to FC United of Manchester in December. Witton’s form has shown signs of improvement over recent weeks even if the results haven’t been forthcoming. Last weekend saw them bow out of the League Challenge Cup to Staffordshire club Silverdale Athletic but, recent league results have shown an upturn in commitment and effort with margins of defeat generally becoming smaller. They have only managed to win one league game in recent weeks against bottom club Glossop North End and the back- markers made them fight all the way to earn that victory. Bootle arrive in Cheshire looking to complete the double over Witton following their 9-0 thrashing back in September but Witton will be hoping to continue with their improvement of recent weeks however small that has been. Kick off at Moss Farm is 12noon.
