Witton U18’s started off their pre-season campaign with an excellent 4-2 victory over a very strong Sandbach United team on Sunday 22nd July. A hat trick from Kyle Phipps and penalty from Alex Murphy sealed the win.
The next pre-season match is against our very own Witton Albion Academy on Friday 27th, with a 12:00 kick-off at Sandbach United FC.
A select group of U18’s players will then travel to Milton Keynes on Saturday morning for a strenuous training session under the watchful eye of Ed Stein and his coaches. A fantastic opportunity.

Witton U18’s continued their pre-season with a really close game against the Witton NPLFA Academy team on Friday at Sandbach Community Football Centre. The Academy team weathered an early storm but settled down and were deserved leaders, going in 3-0 up at half time. The second half was a different story with the U18’s fighting back, but ultimately second best as the final whistle stopped their comeback with the score at 4-3 to the Academy.
A great performance from both teams, played with real spirit in tough conditions.
Kyle Phipps scored his second hat trick of the week, but this was a real team effort!
Best of luck to the Academy team in their new season!

Witton U18’s continued their pre-season with a game against North West Youth Alliance Premier Team Altrincham U18’s on Wednesday evening.
A great performance from both teams, played with real spirit and a fantastic attitude, but Altrincham just edged us out with a 4-3 victory.
Kyle Phipps scored his third hat trick in three games, but credit to all the lads who battled for the full 90 minutes. We deserved at least a draw against higher level opposition.
