Easter Monday brings derby day when Witton welcome neighbours 1874 Northwich to the U Lock It Stadium in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

Witton’s charge for the play offs suffered a jolt on Saturday with a suprising defeat at Hednesford Town, so they will be looking to get back on track against a team who are fighting for survival.

1874 are clinging on at the foot of the table although Saturday’s home defeat to Newcastle Town has left them on the brink of relegation which will be confirmed should they not win.

A winless run stretching back to October when they secured three points against Widnes has almost resigned them to their fate but, Witton will still have to approach the game in a positive manner and take nothing for granted.

Five games stand between Witton and the play offs but they can’t afford to drop many more points if their ambitions are to realised.

1874 won’t make it easy for Jon Macken’s team and they will have to perform in order to achieve the desired result.

Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 3pm.

Witton remain in sixth place in the table but outside the play offs on goal difference.

We always want to see more goals but nevertheless a satisfying win today.

I thought Elliot Rokka was outstanding. ”1874” had little to offer and not sorry to see them relegated.

There were a few posts in the Guardian this week suggesting that Mid Cheshire teams should combine which is laughable.

The two “Northwich teams have nothing to bring to the table not even their own grounds!

Thoroughly deserved win against probably, the worst team I’ve ever seen at NPL level.

Good first & third goal and Ben enjoyed his tap in.
Great to see the Witton support behind the goal, particularly the increasing number of young supporters there.

A massive well-done to the people who have created/encouraged their support.

Good to meet up with some old faces today too.
