Witton Albion v Ashton United

Played better today with the two new strikers, particularly Bakkor, playing better than their predecessors. On top when we equalised through Ben Harrison’s first of the season but left their sub completely unmarked in injury time for their winner. When you’re down there nothing goes for you and the decision to relinquish Bodie in defence for a forward player was a decision that appeared to work for Pritch until their winner who Bodie would have been marking.

The players dug in today and it’ll need more of the same in the coming weeks for things to improve. And a bit of luck…

Maximum effort from the players.Ashtons very experienced keeper produced three excellent saves to keep his side in the game.I thought they were a good experienced side that knew what they were doing.Johnson showed class upfront and O’neill scored the winner.

Second half produced good build up play and on occasions spoilt by the offical flagging Danny offside, when on both occasions seen
a great ball dropped in behind the full-back with Danny timing his run to perfection.

Perhaps a point was fair

The chairmans notes pre-match should make a few of us sit up and take notice, lets be careful what we wish for, we could be supporting Stafford Rangers or Stockport County, both bigger clubs falling on harder times…

Witton team

Matt Cooper, Alistair Brown, Cliff Moyo, Ben Harrison, Rob Bodie, Jonathan Breeze, Josh Hancock, Anthony Gardner, Chris Simm, Scott Bakkor, Danny Andrews.

Subs: Jon Dawson, Adam Parkhouse, Joshua Crofts, Michael Moseley, Stuart Plant.

Beginning to think the unthinkable, hopefully the new fund raiser will help stop the rot.WHS.

Just a thought here, maybe the “unthinkable” isn’t really that much “unthinkable”?? IF we were to go down (I say IF!!) might we not be more at a level where we can win lots of games, get exited again, pull back fans who want to see wins etc.

They say the sun shines on the righteous and we, as a club, are certainly that! We do deserve to be at the level we are at now…but maybe it cannot be sustained against clubs who have “other” sources of income over and above our honesty and prudence??

I don’t think there is anything to worry about because from what I have seen this season we have been in almost every game. (apart from one or two). On tonigh’s game I thought that no.10 was just what we needed, always on the shoulder and looking to run in behind with a few clever runs. I cannot believe where we are this season and just hope Pritch continues with his playing style and philosophy as he shouldn’t compromise on what has worked so well for us for the last 2 seasons and I think we should all buy into this and continue to support the albs through this difficult period.

we need to stay in this league, and in pritch we have the man to do it. he will turn everything upside down to put things right. also i don’t believe the players will allow the unthinkable happen, they are a good bunch of players and when they play the ball on the ground they always look like scoring, we are only short of someone to put the ball away. most of the games we have lost we should have had something from the game, so come on all you wittoners just get behind the team and play our part in turning the season around in 2014.

Back from the desert tomorrow and hopefully I will be there to see us WIN our next home game. I do not want to see us go down, as I always say " Onwards and Upwards" and I know of no one better to lead us there than Mr. Pritchard.
