Witton begin the Cheshire District FA Senior Cup campaign on Tuesday night when they welcome North West Counties South Division Ashville FC in a First Round tie.

Following an excellent performance and result at Widnes on Saturday, Albion will be hoping to continue their recent improvement in form as they bid to win for the third game in a row.

Ashville are currently fourteenth in their respective league and will be looking to progress in the competition so, Witton will not be taking their opponents lightly.

Dependent on the availability of players, Jon Macken will have the opportunity of casting an eye over some of the players who haven’t had much game time so far but at the same time, will be wanting to field a strong team with the view of making progress.

The are a couple of players within the Ashville FC squad with connections to Witton in previous years namely, striker Ben Greenop who had a brief spell with us.

Also Kynan Mason who was a former member of the Albion Development Squad and Youth system.

Should the game finish level at the end of normal time, the tie will be decided on penalties.
