A chance to go back on top if we win. Don’t see why not,our defence looks very solid and we have proved we can create and score goals so far. Will have to watch out for Peersy who will surely be up for this one,he came off the bench against Prescot to provide Chester’s equaliser.
The next 2 games will be a real challenge for us, first time in front of a big crowd for one or two of our lads on wednesday and Chester are obviously one of the big spenders in the league this season and then we go to my outsiders for the title in Skelmersdale, they are sneaking in under the radar at the moment but lie in 5th having played a lot fewer games. I would take 2 pts from these 2 games 2 draws to stop them making ground on us anything more would be a huge bonus IMO.
Looks like Peers has spent more time on the bench than on the pitch, his carrer hasn’t really blossomed since leaving us (but i’m sure his wallet is a bit fatter…).
The one thing we know is that Matty Wood will match him for pace.
Returning ex-players always have an impact on games, so let’s hope Peers’ impact isn’t too telling.
The battle between Kinsey and Ruffer should be interesting…
I know this has been said already but wanted to make sure all Wittoners had got the message that there will be NO ENTRY to the Social club from inside the ground until after kick off - If you want a drink before the game use the Club entrance.
If you do as we normally do and head for the turnstile first you will be denied entrance to the club and will go thirsty!!!
Just to reitierate this point the doors from the club to the ground will be locked and this will be strictly in force so head to the club first please.
There will be signs on the turnstile so read them!
Also lets show some common sense and get there early folks - we know its going to be a busy night.
Match Day Arrangements
Witton Albion FC v Chester FC
-6 October 2010
THIS IS NOT AN ALL TICKET MATCH
but in order to assist supporters on the night, the following arrangements are in place and are there to enable everyone attending the game to do so in as comfortable a manner as is possible.
Social Club
The social club will be open before the game and is available to ALL supporters but the bar will close at 7.30pm prompt. This should allow supporters sufficient time to gain entry into the stadium.
Before kick-off, access is only available from the outside of the stadium and hot food will be on sale from this area, as well as inside the ground, although the choice will be greater in the social club.
Under no circumstances will entry be allowed into the social club once inside the stadium before kick-off.
There will be limited access at half-time.
Car Parking
There is a car park at the far end of the ground which can be reached via the access road. Parking is free, but conditional on the fact that
all vehicles and their contents are parked entirely at the owners own risk,
and Witton Albion FC Ltd will not accept any liability for any damage or loss howsoever caused.
Stadium Entry
Although this is not an all ticket match, segregation will apply inside the stadium (each turnstile will be suitably signed), and supporters of each club should note the following:
Chester FC - the South Terrace (popular name Lostock End), the West Terrace (to the segregation gate) and block D of the main stand have been allocated to visiting supporters.
Witton Albion FC - the North Terrace (popular name Wincham End), the West Terrace (to the segregation gate) and blocks A and B of the main stand have been allocated to home supporters.
Disabled Supporters - if any registered disabled supporter will require assistance for entry into the stadium on the night, then they should email their contact details to wafc43008@o2.co.uk no later than 5.00pm on Tuesday -5 October and we shall provide whatever reasonable assistance we can on the night.
Yep - I was a bit surprised that they got beaten at home this evening.
Skem getting beat at home should give us some confidence to go there and get a result although to be honest I would say that Fylde are one of the better sides we’ve played this season. When we went there they bossed long periods of the game and in the end only our pressure and a great header from pritch got us a point. I think Fylde could gather momentum, they have a couple of ex-Blackpool players (including the Jamie Milligan and Lewis Edge). They have become draw specialists over the last month, but they are not getting beaten very often. I think Skem are likely to be there or there abouts too.
We’ll get a good idea of our potential tonight, the biggest game in the last couple of seasons for us and whilst nothing will be won or lost regards the league tonight it will be a good indication of how we are doing. With 7 wins on the bounce we should have the confidence to take the game to Chester, we’ll need to start well and an early goal would do wonders for us.
I will be there tonight. Re this web site, a word of warning, if you lot don’t buck up your ideas and start posting I may break my vow and start writing drivel on here again so be warned and get posting. Tonight’s game is a BIG ONE so talk about it, start getting excited NOW!!!
WHS.
We love your drivel!!!
Get drivelling again right now!!!
Although it was not a great result with regards the league tonight, it was a magnificent night for all the volunteers.
Hopefully I don’t forget anybody, but extremely well done to the ground stewards, the car park stewards, the first aid staff, the bar staff, the ground staff, the predictions team, the half time raffle seller (GE), the golden goal seller, traceylove, the people who obtained the sponsors, the sponsors, the boardroom staff, the management team, the medical staff, the team, the board, the gatemen, the Chairman, the Board, THE SUPPORTERS, the tannoy man, the admin staff, the football secretary, the club doctor, the groundstaff, Alan Spruce who locked my bike away for safe keeping, the people who looked after the sponsors, the tea hut staff, the physio and medical staff, Chester FC and anybody else who made this a very successful night, except the result.
