Witton Albion v. Dunston UTS(Isuzu FA Challenge Trophy Second Qualifying Round)

Witton look to progress in the Isuzu FA Challenge Trophy on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Dunston UTS in the Second Qualifying Round.

Another first as the two clubs haven’t met before and another North East opponent faces Ben Harrison and his team.

Dunston are currently tenth in the Northern Premier League East Division and have reached this stage with a comfortable 4-1 victory over Brighouse Town in the First Qualifying Round.

Witton’s victory at Bootle was hard-earned but deserved despite the narrow scoreline.

Manager Ben Harrison has been busy this week in securing the signatures of striker Tom Hoyle and midfielder Jacob Hamman for the rest of the season.

The news will give Witton supporters a much needed boost ahead of an important fixture and coming on top of the signing of leading scorer Freddy Garbutt.

Dunston have been in league action in the past week, picking up a point from a goalless draw at home to Ossett United.

North East clubs always provide tough opposition and Dunston will be no different but at least we avoid another long trip in midweek with the tie having to be settled on the day.

I missed this one! A disappointing result and display from what I hear!

Not a team I would have picked based on recent form but guess Duckworth was injured and Harrop suspended.

We need to get it right in the league for Congleton. UTA

Yes, Harrop has a 2 match suspension and Duckworth was injured.

Didn’t see much of the first half. Second half looked like it was going to penalties until they scored from a breakaway.
