Witton Albion v. Hanley Town

Witton return to league action on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Hanley Town in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

Buoyed by the win at Nantwich Town in the Cheshire Senior Cup in midweek, Albion will go into the game looking to put much-needed league points on the board.

The two sides are separated by two points but Hanley have played a game less so far so, three points are important for Jon Macken’s team.

The two games between the two last season saw Witton pick up four points and the corresponding fixture at the U Lock It Stadium was memorable for striker Connor Hughes, who netted four times as Albion came out comfortable winners 5-1 with Elliot Rokka scoring the other goal.

The return meeting in Staffordshire towards the end of the season saw the points shared in a goalless draw.

Four defeats in their last five games have been a problem for Witton, but they will be looking to improve on that against a Hanley team who have performed well on the road in recent weeks.

The game is the first of two home fixtures in three days for Witton as FA Trophy form team City of Liverpool FC are on the horizon but, that is for the future.

Hanley will be a tough test and Witton will need to improve on recent performances if they are to achieve the right result.

Please note the earlier kick off time at the U Lock It Stadium is 1pm.

Witton climb to thirteenth in the table ahead of this afternoon’s games. We are next at home on TUESDAY, 12th DECEMBER to City of Liverpool FC with a 7.45pm kick off.

That was a pretty good performance given the conditions which were awful! I Like the new lad in midfield Newell, great energy and aggression.

Matt Lowton was quality and there was no lack of effort from any player certainly deserved the 2 wins on the bounce and thing look a whole deal better.

Consider Ben Harrison, Cam Fogerty and Harry Brazel (Arguably 3 of our best players) missing, it makes it an even better win.

Enjoy the xmas break away lads and get us 3 more points on Tuesday that would be a great xmas present. UTA

Really enjoyed the game today, plenty off effort from every player.

Midfielders were solid and productive, 2 quality goals with a bit more luck could have had more.

Let’s build on this performance and start to move up the table. Well done lads.
:+1::+1:

Sounds like a good performance in difficult conditions so well done all. Follow this up with a win tomorrow and you never know my doom and gloom could have been premature :blush:
