Witton look to begin another winning run on Saturday afternoon, when they welcome high-flying Leek Town to the U Lock It Stadium in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

Albion’s run of improvement came to an end last weekend in dramatic fashion at Trafford FC, with the home side grabbing a late winner in a game that was delayed due to a serious incident.

Second placed Leek Town have begun the season well, losing only once so far in the league and are unbeaten in seven games on the road with four wins and three draws.

Their last win being a 2-0 success at Trafford FC in midweek so Witton face a tough test.

The last league meetings between the two clubs came during the 2016/17 season and both games were played seven days apart, with Albion completing the double over their opponents, winning 5-2 at home and then 2-1 in the return fixture at Harrison Park on their way to sealing promotion from the Northern Premier League South via the play offs.

Leek’s only league defeat this season came at Harrison Park against leaders Macclesfield FC, with the Silkmen coming from behind to claim the points.

Leek’s team could include three fomer Albion players in Goalkeeper Danny Roberts and midfielders Billy Reeves & Ross Davidson so, they will be hoping to put one over their former employers but Witton will also be looking to pick up three more important points.

Games against Leek in the past have usually been entertaining and eventful so this could follow the same pattern, but Albion will need to perform if they are to get the desired result.

Big game and a big ask as we take on 2nd place Leek some difficult decisions today!

I think we are capable of playing a very good 5 3 2 set up with

Martin
Haywood, Huxley, Harrison, Jackson, Kennerley
Fogerty, Barrow, Williams
Koral, Duckworth.

But I suspect we will stay 4 4 2, just hope he plays Williams and Barrow in the middle. Good luck lads UTA

Can’t imagine us playing Calum Huxley in a back five to be honest.
