Witton Albion v. Leek Town

Witton bring the curtain down on their home campaign on Saturday afternoon, when they welcome Champions Leek Town to the U Lock It Stadium in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

Two massive games stand between Witton and the play offs and the first couldn’t be any tougher.

Leek have deservedly won the title as they have shown the most consistency throughout the season.

They also have in Rob Stevenson, the league’s leading marksman who has played a major role in their success.

The first meeting earlier in the season saw Leek comfortably beat Witton 4-1, but that was at a time when Albion were experiencing some difficulties in their form and they were at the wrong end of the table.

The transformation has been quite remarkable in the second part of the season and Witton have the top five in their sights.

Going into the final two games, Leek have only suffered six defeats during the season four of them on the road, so Witton have reason to be optimistic considering their recent form.

Whatever happens over the last two games, Witton have made massive strides after a difficult start and the team deserve great credit for getting us anywhere near the play offs.

They will have to be at their best if they are to pick up the three points.

Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 3pm.

What a cracking penultimate game against the new champions will be proper tough ! Leek are worthy champions and look a great side. We will have to be at our best and take our chances. Team wise I’d start

Roberts
Koral, Lowton, Harrison, Kennerley
Fogerty, Newell, Brazel
Rokka
Duckworth, Pope

With good players on the bench to change it if needed.

UTA

Personally I’d go with the same back four as last week. Hitchcox was excellent at full back and certainly deserves his place after his performance.

Koral is a consistant eight out of ten no matter where he plays.

Good luck to all the team. Hopefully Ducky is fit and able to play so him and Rokka can run at the back 4.

We have a great squad and I am sure they will be up for it.

Looking forward to the game and atmosphere.
