Competent performance against a very poor Leigh side. Big improvement from first game of season.
After having to take the wife on a rather expensive shopping trip for a pram on Saturday morning and also then having to go to The Lowry in the evening to watch Evita (don’t ask), the match was sandwiched into a busy day of wife-related activities. It has to be said the match did run out the highlight of the day!
I had not seen the last two games (due to working away) and I was impressed by the improvement. I’ve felt all along that Kinsey is a class act and we just needed to find the right player alongside him, on yesterday’s evidence Stott is the man. Stott, Kinsey and Griggs were particularly impressive and we had pace and strength coming forward. Leigh’s defenders could not handle the pressure and their keeper will want to forget a bad day at the office.
Ironically I think neither Heler or Macca played that well but our wing play and forward line were excellent. Ben Harrison is starting to look composed at the back and is clearly benefiting from a run of games. Sadly his involvement has to be at the expense of Pritch however if you watched the big fella during the game he was constantly organising the team and shouting great instructions to them. I don’t think there is any doubt he will manage this club one day however I still think there will be plenty of times we need him on the pitch before the season is out.
Good performance and good goals, as still think we are ‘work in progress’ but the new additions have made a difference.
I see that Warrington Town have been deducted 3 points for fielding an inelligible player, subject to appeal.
When the league tables are adjusted to show this, it will place us in joint 2nd place.
Durham have also been deducted 1 point for the same reason, subject to appeal
Again enjoyed the game we were sharp, albeit leigh were very poor, but for the albs lots of positives, And one that has not been mentioned is Pugh who is not spectacular but his work rate and all round play made a big difference on the left and i was impressed by him, we now look very balanced and carry a threat going forward, be intersting to see how we cope when we play a half decent side. cmon the albs
impressed with saturdays performance and result, it could have been more. agree with previous posts about certain players, but this was a team performance and all players should take satisfaction in the way they played. the team spirit is excellent as is the commitment and work rate from these players, so i would say to the stay away wittoners " come on down and be entertained". come on the albion, and well done oggie.
