Witton Albion v. Litherland REMYCA(PSF)

Witton return to action on Saturday afternoon when they welcome North West Counties Premier Division Litherland REMYCA to the U Lock It Stadium in their second pre season friendly.

The Merseyside club have stepped in following the cancellation of the original fixture at Widnes which was cancelled following their withdrawal from all competitions.

Ironically, Litherland were themselves supposed to play Widnes in their first outing of pre season.

Manager Ben Harrison will have been pleased with some of the aspects of the defeat to Salford City last weekend, where Albion acquitted themselves well against league opposition.

To lose the game in the dying minutes will have disappointed the management team but, coming only a week after returning to training will have given cause for optimism.

With a number of new additions and some trialists involved, it will enable them to become used to each other’s game and allow them to work on things as pre season progresses.

Litherland will pose a different set of problems that Witton will have to contend with but fitness is the all important thing at this stage.

Results are not important although they can help the team to build confidence and togetherness ahead of the new season.

Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 3pm.

Tom Hoyle doing well so far! A few missing yesterday, hope not a spate of injuries probably holidays!

Not easy to judge anyone in that heat. UTA

Yes, mainly holidays and a wedding.

I was wondering where they were. This was a good workout for the team, especially in the heat.

We look a lot fitter than last year, nice to see Ben has made a few quality signings it’s looking good so far. :grinning:
