Witton Albion v. Mossley AFC

Witton look to end a run of three successive defeats in all competitions when they take on Mossley at the U Lock It Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The game represents Witton’s first league game at home since they played Runcorn Linnets on August Bank Holiday Monday.

Progress in both FA competitions meant league games having to be re arranged for later dates, but now Witton can concentrate on the league and hopefully, pick up points to climb the table.

The management team and players can feel disappointed with the defeat at fellow strugglers Congleton Town on Tuesday night, a game where they created enough chances to have taken something out of the game.

Mossley come to the U Lock It Stadium in mid table but have managed only one win on the road so far, a 4-1 success at Darlaston Town.

The Lilywhites last outing saw them beat Sporting Khalsa comfortably 4-0 and they always provide tough opposition.

The two meetings between the two teams last season saw Mossley win 1-0 at home whilst a 98th minute equaliser saw the points shared at the U Lock It Stadium, after Oliver Hitchcox had given Witton the lead.

Team selection has given Ben Harrison and his staff some problems in recent weeks with players missing through injury and suspension but, they will go into the game with a plan and hopefully, they can get the desired result.

Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 3pm.

Well talk about must win, we badly need to stop the losing run!

Unlucky yes, injuries yes, bad refs yes, but we need to get our form going and turn it around.

Team wise it’s hard to know what to do with injuries, missing players and suspension maybe a 5 3 2

Terry
Baillie, Ebhote, Langley, Bembo-Leta, Fleming
Lawrie, Kerr, Edwards
Hoyle, Garbutt.

If Ben is fit and fancies playing he should replace Langley and assume Jones isn’t fit or he would be full back

Hamman, Harrop, Raymond, Brazel, Farrall

Good luck whoever plays. UTA

According to Andy Simpson, Aaron Fleming is suspended so it maybe that Jacob Hamman plays at left back.

Full match commentary with Iain Wright and Alex Trainor will be available on https://radio-witton.mixlr.com from 2.45pm

Well done lads. After squandering the lead during the week, and losing the lead twice today it shows great character to come back again. No idea what the performance was like, but sometimes the result is the be all and end all, and I think today was one of those times.

Witton are in action again on Tuesday night when they welcome Trafford FC to the U Lock It Stadium in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture with a 7.45pm kick off.

That’s a good win for us, if we can avoid the banana skin of Trafford on Tuesday and get. 3 points the table will be looking a lot healthier.

Be good to keep a similar team if possible to try and gain some continuity and form. UTA

It was a good game yesterday we deserved the win. A mistake by our keeper for there equaliser which I think we can forgive him.

My MOM Harrop, he worked his socks off and scored. A really good performance from everyone, let’s now get 3 points on Tuesday and move up the table. :+1:
