Witton return to league action on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Mossley to the U Lock It Stadium in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

Mossley have begun the season well and currently sit fourth in the Northern Premier League West Division table on ten points.

The two clubs enjoyed a fierce rivalry in their Cheshire League days and also in their early Northern Premier League meetings, when Mossley were managed by Bob Murphy and Albion appeared to have the upper hand on the Seel Park club but games were always eventful.

The last league meeting between the two was as far back as October 20th 2015, and Mossley came out on top in a 4-0 win at Seel Park.

Witton will be looking to put their midweek FA Challenge Trophy defeat behind them especially as they got off to the perfect start but, the game appeared to change on one decision and Stockton Town to the credit took full advantage of it.

Albion have strengthened their squad in midweek with the return of a familiar face and a popular player, as Ben Harrison rejoins the club from Nantwich Town which will add experience and height to the defence.

Striker Joe Duckworth continued his recent good form in midweek and will be hoping to add to his tally as Witton bid to push up the table.

Mossley have always proved tough opponents and this game will be no different.

Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 3pm.

Awful, don’t mind when we get beat if the players put the effort in. Today there were too many showing a complete lack of interest.

Disappointed and annoyed is an understatement. I don’t usually leave before the final whistle but today I was more than glad to.

Yes very bad day at the office, missed Williams and Prince’s experience. The midfield was way too lightweight not a tackle in it and lost the ball a lot!

We still need an experienced striker badly and will struggle without Williams and Haywood in the midfield, losing Koral and Tinning to injury didn’t help either, definiely one to forget!

We will struggle at Bootle I suspect with suspensions and injuries based on today.
