It’s a must win tonight after Saturday - anything less and our (very slim) play-off hopes evaporate.
And bizarrely, we’re only eight points above the relegation zone. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a league table be so tightly packed!
A tough test and we have a few missing so it’s everyone up for the fight time!
Let’s hope we can dig in and get the 3 points. UTA
Witton look to bounce back from a disappointing defeat against improving Widnes at the weekend, when they welcome Newcastle Town to the U Lock It Stadium in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture on Tuesday night.
The two sides locked horns at The Red Industries Stadium on the opening day of the season and shared the points in a 1-1 draw following Albion’s drop from the Premier Division.
A completely new team took to the field that day under new management and nobody knew what to expect but, were full of hope and optimism about what was ahead of them.
Central defender Oliver Hitchcox got Witton’s season off and running with their first goal of the campaign just after the half hour mark, in a keenly contested encounter and they kept their advantage until the break.
A second half equaliser from Town’s striker Jacob Lovatt just before the hour meant the points were shared despite the hosts going down to ten men in the final minutes, due to James Askey’s dismissal for two yellow cards.
Newcastle Town are up there amongst the challengers for the play off positions, so Witton will face another difficult test as they bid to get back on track.
Two more home games to come following this one so points have never been more crucial as they aim to climb higher up the table.
Leading scorer Joe Duckworth who netted his fifteenth goal of the season on Saturday, will be pivotal to that but he needs the support of others within the team and hopefully with that bit of luck that every team needs results can start to pick up again.

Much-needed victory sees the Albion climb to seventh in the table.
Great performance tonight against a Newcastle side that pushed us right to the final whistle.
Stunning goal from Kingsley and Elliot Rokka is showing his class. The game was played at a very fast pace and it was good entertainment, every player played their part tonight.
Prince, Mike and Jordan Barrow, the big fella looked liked he played there all his career, timed tackles and balls played in behind during the testing second half.
That’s bouncebackability, who needs the Champions League.
That was a very good return to form, Rokka was class dancing around players and Barrow made a superb stand-in at centrehalf.
A much better shape and more competitive than saturday. We played some very nice football and Williams goal from distance was a great strike.
My mom Rokka but they played well tbh. UTA
And amazingly up to 7th in the table with a game in hand on most plus 2 on Mossley!
Win our game in hand and we are 4 points off Runcorn who are 5th in the last playoff place. UTA
