Witton kick off their pre season campaign on Saturday afternoon when they welcome reigning Northern Premier League Champions Radcliffe FC to the U Lock It Stadium.

Radcliffe had a tremendous season winning the Premier League title by ten points and can now look forward to playing at the highest level in the club’s history.

Witton have seen changes in personnel during the close season with a number of last season’s squad moving on to pastures new but now begin the next chapter in the club’s history.

Some of last season’s squad have stayed with the club notably goalkeeper Danny Roberts and young midfielder Cameron Fogerty and there have been a couple of new additions to date in winger Wealth DaSilva and midfielder Charlie Duke, who will surely add competition for places.

Radcliffe have also been active in the close season and have added a familiar face to Albion fans in the form of defender Josh Wardle from Marine.

They also have another familiar face in Josh Hancock who played a pivotal role along with Jordan Hulme in achieving their success last season.

The game will surely give Witton a test but fitness and game time is the most important aspect of pre season, results become secondary although nice if the team can achieve a positive outcome.

Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 3pm.

Good performance from Witton first half wonderful goal from Duckworth.

Grogan looked good at the back the midfield was solid.

Second half Radcliffe stepped up and took control and scored a great goal.

A few trialists came on and we got back in the game. I was very impressed with the left winger who created chances, hope we can keep him.

Overall a good workout for Witton for the first game. :+1:
