Witton Albion v. Salford City(PSF)

Witton face their toughest test of pre season on Tuesday night when they welcome League Two Salford City to the U Lock It Stadium.

Saturday’s game against Warrington Rylands saw them put in another excellent performance and results have been encouraging, coming from behind twice to draw with strong opposition from a league above.

One defeat in the five friendlies gives Jon Macken and his staff something to build on for the season ahead and although they will probably have their team in mind, it does give fringe players and trialists something to aim for.

Salford City have indicated that Witton will face a strong tem during the game with a number of first team players on view, so it will also be good experience for the players to pit their wits against a full time professional outfit.

The result is not important but it gives the squad more minutes on the pitch and another opportunity to increase the understanding and improve on their match fitness.

A number of players were absent from Saturday’s game so that will add competition for places and with only one scheduled pre season fixture left before the season kicks off in earnest.

Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 7.45pm.

Another cracking game for the Albion fans, impressive against a strong Salford team, goalmof the game by Taylor Kennerley a cracking left foot volley bending into the net. Very good crowd for a friendly but so it should be with the football on offer. UTA

There is a real buzz around the place at the moment. Loads of younger fans coming down which is great for the future.

Couldn’t believe the car park was full when I got there for a friendly, Great stuff.

Most of which appeared to be Wittoners! Lots of noise from the terraces and the team is looking really good. Cannot wait for the season to start. UTA!
