Witton Albion v Salford City Sat 13th Nov

Two defeats and a couple of poor performances and panic is setting in. We have a decent team, it will pick up again, hopefully on Saturday if not, soon.
WHS.

WHS I think its not panic but realisation that we are not as good as the better teams in this league ? this coupled with dropping points to teams we should really beat, im not at all panicing but I have to say I think we are a club in all senses that is below its true level, our gates ground supporters deserve evo prem at least - and I know nobody gets a ticket for free generally you deseve to be where you are I just think if we didnt have 5 attacking options and used the money to get a decent right back we would be much stronger I really dont agree that moffat and Holt are near good enough I dont know how young they are and if they can improve but I doubt it so for now we need to improve and rebalance the squad as I think Eli wa suggesting - this is not a soliloquy just a post

Firstly, how can the Woodley game affect the confidence of the players who didnt actually play in it?1 Totally bemused at that suggestion.

Yes we are finding our level, mid table. I was under the impression that this is what we were told back in August? So why the surprise??

Yes we have come unstuck against the bigger clubs, those with greater budgets. Again, hold the front page!!!

We are missing Stott at the minute, so of course we are struggling for goals a little more than we were when he was in the side.

It’s Novemeber, and we are out of the play off spots for the first time all season. In my opinion we have overacheived so far. So let’s praise the players and coaching staff for a good job up to this point, and let’s trust them to get us back on track again in the coming weeks.

We have a much smaller budget now than we had under Nige Deeley. But which was the better squad? Which team did you prefer watching? And i’m yet to see this team go on a run of 10 straight defeats.

I can’t see that we have lost to anybody that we should have been odds on to beat, so i’m not terribly worried right now. I enjoy watching this team play, and when it clicks it’s like watching the team we had under Jim Vince.

We are doing as well as any of us could have hoped for back in August, so let’s have a little perspective.

GOOD GOD! I agree with every word Robbo says!!

Hear hear,robbo.

Well since you brought the subject up Robbo I would have stuck by Nigel,he was confident he could turn things around, the chairman made a kneejerk reaction to some fans baying for his sacking, brings in a worse manager and we end up where we are !

A certain premiership team not too far from here stuck by their manager and look at the results !

This is not a criticism of Oggy, who I think is doing a good job under the circumstances !

Robbo - you are bang right with everything you posted - must be the responsibility that comes with being a home owner!

Only my opinion mind - Did Fergie go ten straight defeats did he? I would be surprised if it was much more than 4!!!

Oggie/Pritch/Macca are doing a fantastic job, certainly exceeding my expectations for the season so far and playing a good brand of football.

I have to say though CJ you are far more tactically aware of the game than I, so I wouldn’t disagree with you either - Any jobs going at the UN?

Up The Albs!

Nice to see people are being realistic and sensible with our current posistion. This season is going to be a rebuilding process after 2 bad years in regards to the on field team. The current team have the nucleus to go on a do very well with a couple of additions this is obviously going to take time and this season may have come too soon as regards promotion. But I would certainly fancy us next season if we can keep the majority of this squad together with hopefully the big budget teams of Chorley and Chester going out of the league via promotion. This is going to be a long term project and in the grand scheme of things a couple of defeats isn’t the end of the world.

I don’t really like to look backwards too much as there is nothing that can be done now but the talk about if Nigel Deeley had remained in charge he would of turned things around is a complete non starter. There is no doubt of Nigel’s dedication and success he achieved whilst working in the Stockport County youth academy is something to be proud of. But he also had one of the worst managerial records in non-league football at Leek, Congleton and ourselves. No doubt he put everything into his managerial stint with us but some people are just not cut out for management and I shudder to think what league we would be in if Nigel was still in charge.

No doubt we now have the man in charge now we should of got when Jim Vince left and I expect in a couple of years we may well be in a much better posistion and these recent run of bad results will be forgotten.

I agree with you Nick, if we stick with Mr. Ogden in a few seasons we will be back in the Conference North at least I am sure especially if the supporters stick it out and continue to give the team their support. We have a great backroom staff and I am sure with the support of the ordinary “Joe” (And “Jane”) we will be on a more secure finacial footing in the not too distant future. What I like about our present manager is that he is not continually saying he needs a bigger budget and seems to be just getting on with it.
