Well played today back to winning ways, could have been more. Other results went our away, push for the play offs back on. Mom rocket ronnie or Ry broadhead. New guy played well also. See you at glapwell another 3 points please.

Just a mention for todays officials. I thought they were very good. Wish we had had them for the last few games!

2-0 up after 25 minutes and some people near me were still moaning. We could win 10-0 and a lot of us would complain. Thought we played some decent stuff today, we should have had the game won long before we did but a win is a win. On to Glapwell on Tuesday… A win would be massive. Shame about the poor gate today though

Off to a slow start today and we could have been 2 down with Stamford having one cleared off the line and a brilliant save from Jack Baker. A Pritch like header by Ryan Broadhead from a corner opened the scoring and settled the Albion down. Even the baying fans from the " PIT OF HATE " popular side began to relent. Carl Lamb grabbed a second and apart from a short spell in the second half after Stamford scored the Albion looked the likely winners despite missing lots of chances. Ruffer put the game beyond Stamford after a brilliant run and cross by Pete Heler.
Darren Jones,Mr Finleys new signing to replace the suspended Henry impressed on his debut. The introduction of Super Mike in place of Lamb refreshed the front line in which Foster failed to impress with his suspension coming up. Time and again Mike unsettled Stamford’s rearguard and should have bagged a couple of goals himself.
The attendance of 189 is disappointing but is probably a reflection of the Glapwell game. We must now gain something from the Glapwell game and maximum points against Carlton and Spalding to keep in with a chance of a play-off spot. Mention for Jack Baker in goal but for me MOM is Ryan Broadhead, play anywhere, gives his all,not lacking in skill and gets better with every game.

Glapwell slipped up today at home to Grantham so if we are up for it we can do the same on Tuesday.

Thought we were overall pretty good today, although we rode our luck at times. For 20 minutes when it was 2-1 you feared the worse.

We opened well and were unlucky not to get a good lead, however the visitors did have two great opportunities to score and credit needs to be given for Baker who during the afternoon made 4 very good saves.

Maylett and Heler were the best of what we had to offer, Jones did well on his debut, Ryan was excellent at the back in the air, Warner did nothing wrong. Whilst I like Lamb as a ball winner not sure he is close to scoring enough goals, thought Super Mike was a handful when he came on (it’s great to see Mike play well - legend)!

Referee was good today, despite the penalty decision on Brad (although we would have missed it anyway)! I think we’ll miss Fozzy over the next few weeks, be interesting to see if we now go 4-4-2 or whether we bring in Moseley to start as a direct swap for Fozzy.

Most important today was 3 points against a pretty poor Stamford side (not quite sure how there number 10 stayed on the pitch)!

On a side note, heard today that Boothy’s cruciate operation is going to cost the lad £5,000 of his personal money and the discussion after the game was that future ‘bucket collections’ for the rest of the season should be to help fund him with this. It is sickening when a player picks up a bad injury whilst playing for the club and I for one think this would be a great gesture on our behalf!

Must have been a great game for the neutral.

Could have gone 2 down, then we should have been 5 or 6 goals to the good instead of just 2, then they scored and had a good couple of chances that could very easily have made it 2 all.

We then picked it up again in the last 15 and ran out 3-1 winners!

Glad the ref didn’t give us a pen though!!!

Now deja vu - if we can just go on a run…

After the criticism I posted last week only fair to mention the good performance today , Ill say that was alot better today, team were on their toes looked sharper. and gave 100% more effort . Im not going to pick out players, all played well but our keeper pulled off some good saves again today. Well done lads

I guess football really is a game of opinions. I came home thinking Ronnie Morgan had a decent game, involved in a lot of our attacking moves, always looking for the ball. My Dad says he was the worst player on the pitch! I think that particular honour could have gone to either one of Stamford’s fullbacks!

I thought Fozzie had a decent 1st half, but second half he just seemed intent on shooting every time he got a sight of goal! Mose had a big impact when he came on, and deserved to score really.

I thought Baker had his best game so far.

Was nice to see we got that bit of good fortune we had been missing when their keeper spilled the ball for Lamb’s goal - but it shows that if you put the ball in dangerous areas then you can sometimes get the rub of the green.

Ruffer’s goal was a real poacher’s effort - maybe he can deputise for Fozzie! Broadhead and Ruffer seem to be making a habit of getting on the score sheet together!

I reckon the whole team played well, keeper made three excellent saves and seems assured, we played the ball on the deck far more, very importantly our players wern’t screaming dogs abuse at each other and the team seemed much more together right from the pre kick off warm-up. The new number six I thought had a very good debut, oh and both teams played the game in a great and fair spirit, which was helped by the officials who were the best i’ve seen for ages. Just shows how fairness and good sense, rather than wafting cards about willy nilly, can affect the whole game!!

Thought we looked a bit nervous when we started and could have been at least a goal down before we scored, but once we scored we took control and played well . Let them come back at us a little bit in the 2nd half but we rode the storm and deserved the 3rd goal. Thought Mike played well when he came on and caused a bit of panic in their defence , the new lad played well ,also agree that the ref had a good game didn`t notice him much .mom, all the team big improvement on last week.

We welcome Stamford next - looking forward to going to cheer on my team to hopefully a win but it does’nt matter if we don’t it is the taking part that counts. I am sure all the players, officials and supporters of both teams will enjoy the occasion in an exemplary sporting manner.

Enough said - pity the stayaways missed it !
