Witton return to action on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Trafford to the U Lock It Stadium in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

Cup commitments of other teams have meant that Albion haven’t had a game for two weeks, so they will be looking forward to playing again and hopefully picking up three important points.

Witton’s home form has been good this season with three wins and a draw from five league games, Clitheroe the only team to leave with maximum points.

Trafford have played six games away from home so far and have managed three draws and three defeats.

Trafford have recently appointed Karl Marginson to the hot seat, and they picked up their first league win of the season at home against Nantwich Town in midweek.

The two games between the teams last season were keenly contested affairs and Trafford came out on top on both occasions, a late goal deciding the game in their favour at Shawe View and then the only goal of another tight game at Wincham Park last April.

Witton haven’t tasted victory against Trafford since 2016 so they will be wanting to put that right in what will prove to be another tough game.

Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 3pm.
