Witton Albion v. Vauxhall Motors

Witton look to extend their unbeaten run to four games when they welcome Vauxhall Motors to the U Lock It Stadium in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture on Saturday afternoon.

The Motormen currently find themselves one place and one point better off than Albion going into the game, after finding life rather tough in the early weeks of the season. However, a change in management and a number of additions to the playing personnel have seen an improvement in recent results.

The two teams kicked off their season in opposition on the opening day at the VanEupen Arena, and fought out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Kingsley Williams netting twice from the penalty spot for Witton to ensure they didn’t leave empty-handed.

Witton will be looking to continue their recent improvement as they go in search of three more valuable points, but Vauxhall Motors will be doing everything they can to continue their own rise up the table.

The past week has seen players namely, Joe Mwasile and Jack Sherratt depart the club and Tom Hoyle has returned to his parent club Fleetwood Town, we thank them for their time and contribution to the club and wish them well for the future.

Focus turns to the players now wearing the red and white stripes and as always, we offer them our total support as they look to move the team forward.

Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 3pm.

The call for a battling hard man midfielder will be repeated after this showing I’m sure, and I think the time of 4 3 3 is done cetainly with players today leaving our defence exposed.

I was surprised to see Rokka return even more so to see Duckworth back! It doesn’t seem like moving forward at all.

Yes We missed Harrison, injured but where were Pritchard, Brazel and Lawrie who we also missed, we shouldn’t see Roberts starting for sure.

A lot of work to do for the mgt.

Agree we need more ‘beef’ in midfield (someone in the Jordan Barrow/Billy Smart/Ollie James mould; also cover in the middle of defence.

Could do with another decent forward too, but I guess most teams are looking for one of those!

Lawrie is likely to be out for a couple of weeks with a knee injury picked up last Saturday and I understand Brazel’s wife/partner gave birth recently.

Don’t know about Pritchard.
