Witton Albion v. Vauxhall Motors

Witton return to league action briefly on Tuesday night when they welcome Vauxhall Motors to the U Lock It Stadium.

They will be looking to put a disappointing result behind them following their exit from the Isuzu FA Challenge Trophy.

Vauxhall Motors have started the season well and finding themselves behind Albion on goal difference although they have played a game more.

Witton’s management team have been active and have added to the squad with the signing of striker James Hooper, who returns to the club from Runcorn Linnets so have competition for places as games come thick and fast in the coming weeks.

There are still one or two nursing injuries and hopefully they will be back in action before too long.

The two games between the clubs last season were very close affairs with the Motormen getting the better of Witton, taking four points from the two games.

A 2-2 draw on the opening day of last season was followed by a 2-1 victory for the visitors at the U Lock It Stadium.

A tough contest is to be expected as both teams bid to push closer to the top of the table.

Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 7.45pm.

Mike summed it up well on FB, we deserved something from the game and were actually the better side but one mistake from us defensively and no mistakes from them (their no 2 won everything) won the game.

We played some good stuff but final ball and lack of incisive strikers cost us dearly, especially when you consider they are now 2nd in the table.

We are understandably work in progress but much better than Saturday! UTA

A lot better performance last night against a good team, their no 2 was exceptional he cut some good chances for us a draw would have been a fair result.

If we play like that Saturday we should or could win at Crook Town.

Keep going boys. :+1:
