Witton’s latest pre season game sees them welcome league opposition in Wigan Athletic U21’s.
The Latics had a very good season last time and although a great team effort, they were helped by forward Adam Moseley, who netted 28 goals in his debut season.
The former Runcorn Linnets player made such an impact that he has now been elevated to the first team squad.
He did sit on the bench for their FA Cup game against Preston North End and will now be hoping to make further progress.
Witton picked up silverware on Saturday afternoon beating Northwich Victoria 3-1 in the Vijay Anthwal Memorial Shield, and progress has been made so far.
The signing of James Hooper has given the management team a nice problem, his goals in pre season have certainly helped and we know what he is capable of.
The new signings are still bedding in nicely and give everyone cause for optimism ahead of the new season.
Although an Under 21s team, Wigan are professional and will give Albion a game which will certainly test them.
They have begun pre season with a 4-0 defeat to Bury but then beat West Bromwich Albion 2-1 with a brace from striker Cole Simms.

Supporters who purchased their Season Ticket online via the Fanbase app - their mobile phone will be scanned at the turnstiles.
Stadium Access: Before the game, the stadium is only accessible by way of the turnstiles. Wheelchair users access is via the gate near to the turnstiles at the Wincham End of the stadium.
Disabled Facilities: There are two sections - one at each end of the main stand for Wheelchair users.
Due to the changing of the arrangements for access to the Social Club, the turnstiles will be open 2 hours prior to kick off - 1pm on Saturdays, 6pm for midweek games unless otherwise stated.
Social Club: The Social Club will be open from 6pm. Please note: Card payments are accepted at the bar.
Please note: The Social Club can only be accessed from inside the stadium after entering via the turnstiles. From half time onwards, the Social Club is accessible via the passageway within the main stand.
FanZone: Please note the FanZone will not be open with the game being a friendly.
Danny’s Can Bar by the Museum/Club Shop: Information as to whether this is open is not currently available.
Please note: As the Social Club is a food preparation area, dogs are NOT permitted inside the Social Club with the exception of assistance dogs(hearing and visually impaired).
Please note: Alcohol is permitted inside the stadium but MUST be in a plastic beaker.

Refreshments: Food is now available once again within the Social Club and The Tea Bar (Queenies) will also be open inside the stadium at the Lostock End of the stadium.

Please note: Hot food is only available inside the stadium from the Tea Bar (Queenies) at the Lostock End of the stadium past the main stand.
Toilet Facilities: There are toilet facilities in all four corners of the stadium, as well as inside the main entrance to the Social Club which also has a wheelchair accessible facility.
Hand Sanitizers are positioned near to every entrance point around the Stadium & Supporters are welcome to use them.
